Im having problems with brawlbox v0.63d. im using the stage expansion code so I have the 37 new levels. I am trying to make custom names, previews and icons for them, but I just cant do it. I made all the stuff, I named it properly and put it all in and the thing freezes before getting to the stage select.

Here is what I tried to do to solve this problem.
I only added the preview images. That worked out fine.
Then I started over and only added the names. That worked fine.
Then I started over and only added the icons. That worked fine.
I started over and added the preview image and the names. That worked fine.
I added the icons to that, and it froze.

I started looking again and found out my sc_selmap.pac may be to big. So I exported it, and its now 1.20 mb. I think I saw that it needs to be under 1.16 mb. Im not sure if this applies since im using riivolution, but what ever. i tried to make it smaller.

I indexed all my colors in the preview images to 75, and reapplied them. the sc_selmap.pac size remained unchanged.

I indexed all the names to 3 colors, and AS I was reapplying them, I noticed that brawlbox is FORCING the files im replacing to be a particular size! So im trying to add a file that is 3,836B and its MAKING IT be 5,888B.  wtf!?!

Ok, I just went back to see if it was also doing this for the preview and the icons, and it turns out it was… but it was making them smaller than they originally where…. So now im confused as all hell. How can I get the file size of my sc_selmap down to 1.16 if brawlbox keeps setting the size of the files?

Note: i DO have the red and black SSS from here. http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=6201.0 am i going to have to ditch that to make it work?

ok, now im even more confused. the MiscData[80].brres that i downloaded with the stage expansion tutorial is 1.85 mb. and my MiscData[80] that i have after i put everything into it is 1.86mb!  i dont get it. there is like no difference!

    Obviously, what you've imported caused the file to use more memory than normal.

    makes no sense.
    the sc_selmap_en.pac before i start is 0.98 mb. it has a MiscData[80] that is 1.85 mb.  
    im replacing the MiscData[80] with another one that is 1.86 mb. when i do that and save it, the sc_selmap jumps to 1.20 mb.  
    what the hell is happening.

    wait, could memory make it freeze? not just slow it down wile it loads? 

    i just checked one of the micsdata[80] files that did work. the one with the previews and names but no icons. its 1,907 kb, and it worked. its the exact same size as the other version with the icons in it also. and that didnt work... so i guess size is not the issue... its just that it is incapable of loading it because its taking to much memory?

    so what are my options here? is there no way to have all the info on each level with the level expansion code?
    i find that very odd.
