Not exactly sure if this goes here, but if it doesn`t, please tell me NOTE:
Before you report me orrule me out. I placed it here in the on-topic discussion because the other main topics weren`t logical.

Alright, anyway, I made this thread to maybe give people who create homebrew apps for the wii ideas for the improvement of Homebrew itself. If you have an idea, please give us it.

- NO IDEA IS USELESS -

Ideas
----------------------

Program Launcher

-
This idea would be useful for some people to use such .exe, .swf, and other types of exeucutable files, suvch as Brawlbox, SmashAttacks, etc. I like this idea because it means you could access any of the supported file extensions. If someone makes, please make it SD AND USB SUPPORTABLE

Brawl Game Mode Launcher
------------------------------
Much like the Brawl+ Homebrew Launcher, why not link that to Smashmods.com, where you can download the latest versions of SSB Moddings, such as Project Melee, Brawl Minus, etc. This would help alot of people be able to switch between game more quickly. Also, if you can make it a channel that, in turn, uses the Wii`s storage memory to store the mods without having to go redownload it or create a hassle.

Brawl Vault Launcher
------------------------

Now, I know that I love brawlvault, for its wonderful gifts of awesominess and creativity, but the idea goes like this. Using the hombrew browser layout and functions, be able to download textures, stages, music, vertexes, etc. directly to either USB or SD. Please give us the option to choose between the two. Also, put brawlvault homebrew in different languages because my friends at Smacom, a Japanese Brawl site, like AllisBrawl, would like translations for their leisure. A other thing, be able to unzip, unrar, or whatever file type, the containments in the SD or USB

Extension of OP

Internet File Downloader
---------------------------

Now, there`s a homebrew app that sounds like this one, but it requires a DIRECT link to it, which is annoying for people to download from Mediafire or any source. This could be based on the Internet channel, where you could actually now download things and save them to the SD/ USB.

Any more ideas, I will add to the extensions

A .EXE file launcher. That would be freaking amazing!! >.<

Just imagine playing your favorite .exe file run games on your TV, using your wiimote!!
(Or to compensate, plug in a USB keyboard... >.>)

I would like to say up front that I am in full support of these ideas, but..

    1. .exe and .swf launching? Not gonna happen. Well, at least not on the Wii.

    2. Possible. But using the Wiis puny 512mb of storage to store the mods isn't going to happen.

    3. Been brought up multiple times before. Not gonna happen.

how bout a better wii mem viewer

-allows you to view the hex as your playing your game (through Gecko)
^(not so sure about Riivo with this)
-when pausing the game, go into view mode and scroll the hex
^(the home button could be manipulated to change the modes)
-will highlight specific areas of hex (pointers to locations, unchangable hex, etc...)

    note:
the use of this program will be mainly for GCT dev
for people like me who can't afford to go to the dollar store Tongue
    or get a USB gecko...

it'd be much easier to look at the hex you want to edit,
manipulate the value (on your comp), and paste it in a GCT :/

I'm not so sure as to why the hex always starts with '80######' for an offset though :/

you have been through a lot of hassle. I've watched every topic you posted on this, and most of them seemed to disintegrate gradually.
But the coolest part was that you didn't stop working on it despite that.

wii couldn't even run notepad, forget about the exe idea.
A better spot to post these ideas would be here: http://forum.wiibrew.org/

Nobody here that I know of has any experience in creating wii HBC apps, ever.

you may not know anyone noah,
but who says there isn't an experienced wii programmer looking at this thread from google right now
and I'm not talking about myself... I'm not well experienced at it... yet

it's just another possibility being thrown out there...

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if what everyone's rejecting suddenly comes within the next week or so >_>
    just sayin Tongue
