I followed the Complete Noob guide, and I had the Textures for Characters working.

But, randomly, whenever I go to the Character Selection screen, the disc says it can't be read.

I started messing with Stage Textures, but I'm not sure how to work them exactly (.rel file replacement). But, I don't think that was the reason.

I've made a new .gct with the same codes to see if it would work. I replaced the old Gecko OS with the most recent (1.9.3.1). I've deleted most of the Stage textures. The only ones I have or the Primal Dialga, Primal Palkia and Alive Rayquaza stages for Spear Pillar. They also worked fine when I checked them.

And all my character textures worked fine too. It just randomly stopped working.

I don't know what I should do now. Can someone help me out? I would really appreciate it.

Hello, HallowAngel.

I have had this problem before, long before I started hacking my Wii. Every now and then, a Brawl-style screen would appear saying the disc could not be read. After some searching, I found out that it was a mechanical problem with the device within the Wii that reads discs; in other words, your problem likely has nothing to do with the mods.

Disc cleaners did not work for me, so in the end I just bought a new Wii. It may be cheaper for you to send it to Nintendo if you still have a warranty, or get it repaired at a local electronics store.

Hope this helped.

Do you know if there's any other alternative to fixing this?

Also, any game works fine. It's just when I use the hacks does it mess up. I checked to see if Brawl would work without the hacks, and it does. As do other games.

So, I'm not sure if it is the device in my wii.

How very strange...

No, I'm sorry, I do not have any other solutions. Although, the Brawl disc (and some others) are dual-layered; when I had this problem, my older non-Brawl games worked just fine as well because they were not dual-layered.

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/repair/dld_repair_home.jsp?problem=DLDNODISC&gameCode=SSBB explains what happened to me.

Still, if Brawl is working without the hacks, then I do not have a clue as to what it could be.

Sorry I could not help.

All of my games work. So, it can't be that.

I'm guessing I may have input the cheats incorrectly, but I haven't done anything that would mess up anything.

I'll keep messing around then.
