So brawlbox decided to just stop working. It will not save any changes anymore.
If I try to save it says that it cant save the file because its being used in another process (which its not)
And sometimes it says it wont save because "The given key was not present in the dictionary. "
I have 4.2
I've tried deleting it and reinstalling it Restarting my computer Running as admin Saving as a different file name
I'm having the same issue. I've also re-installed the required patches, and the problem occurs in every version of brawlbox. It's very frustrating, I'm currently benched from working on my stage and it was coming out so nicely..

I had the same problem several months ago (along with an error with Windows Media Player). Try to see if any driver (like your sound driver) intervenes with BrawlBox. Although I don't know if that really helped me, but you could always try it. It could be a problem with a register key for BrawlBox (although unlikely).

Anyone have any ideas on how to look into this? How did yours eventually start working again ds22? Thanks for the reply btw.

I've been working through this problem trying to figure out what was causing it, with no luck. The weird thing is, I tried re installing windows, and I started fresh redownloading brawlbox and a test .pac file so there was no connection between the old files and these. It has the same error. Sometimes I can "save as" and I can export and import textures and animations, but if I do anything else, I get an error when I try to save or save as.
I've run into this problem with three different computers, using completely different files, the only thing they have in common is the internet connection. But even when I disconnect from the internet, it still doesn't work.. it's sad.. I'm stumped. Any insight would be useful at this point, I don't want to give up BrawlBox forever lol.

Do you have anything that reads files or backs them up? I had brawlbox on my friend's computer, he had something that automatically backs up his files, this interfered with brawlbox in the same way as you.

Nope, I don't have anything like that. I've reinstalled windows on this computer before with the same back up disc, and it worked fine up until I started getting this error. I'm thinking it is from something that is automatically installed from my wi-fi connection, because the same error pops up on the other computers using the same internet connection, and it worked on them before too.

Is it a new wi-fi connection? If so, try using someone's computer that is not connected to it.

It's the same wi-fi connection I've been using, Brawlbox just stopped saving one day. Nothing changes when I reboot without being connected, and all the computers have been connected at one point.

I have nothing else besides try a different version of brawlbox, re download brawlbox. Or delete it, restart your computer and then re download brawlbox.

Sounds like maybe one of the Windows Updates is being the reason, did you try bbox before updating windows and such?

I've tried all of this. Thanks for tryin to help guys, hopefully a future version of brawlbox will see around this for me. But whatever it is, I'm sure it has something to do with this internet connection in my home because that really is the only thing these three computers have in common. Anyways, here's the details of the error report I most often get: See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.
