It's a cookie, and it's hidden. And when you see it, it'll make it very clear to you that it's the one and only Hidden Cookie. It's such a show-off, that guy, when you find it. :P

A lot of them are automated.

Yeah, the ones that aren't are more or less given right after one-time things like when a hack is featured, or someone donates money, so it's not that hard to keep track overall.

When people post in the thread asking for awards, it's generally because the scripts haven't been ran for a bit, or we just straight-up forgot someone.

The restorer ones are an example of ones needed to be asked for ( but only SJS can ask for those to give to people)

I'd like to, but then again, I'm not exactly comfortable with having awards that aren't defined with very clear borders. I know exactly if someone did or didn't win a contest, write a tutorial or reach 10.000 DLs. But I don't exactly know if someone's discovery qualifies as "something amazing."
There's already the Contructive award which has such blurry borders, and it's seeing very erratic use. So I'm not sure if I'd like to have another one like that.

Not that I don't want to reward great discoveries, but using awards for that seems way too impractical.
Because, as mentionned in the post you quoted, the "Little King" award wasn't exactly doing the job that was intended for it. Like, in three years or so, it was given to only 2 more hacks, IIRC.

Sorry about your award for Marth, but we really had to take it behind the shed and use a few shotgun shells for this one.

It was ZSS I haven't had it for marth in forever, anyways as I see it little king served a purpose even if it didn't turn out to be the purpose you intended it to serve, and now their is no award for most downloaded mod for each character
