I'm working on a hack for link, and I've managed to make his straps go by-bye
    But guess what

When I tried to do the same to the shield and pouches, they appear as [censored]ed up or super stretched polygons! I want them GONE I may have to use the polygon deleater...

Try patching them. It works wonders. Dingo made a good tut showing how to do so.

Trust me, I did try patching (MariokartN's method without DB 2.0) a lot of times and it didn't work.

I have a LOT to do with my link character still, but the most parts of her she's pretty much done =3 I went ahead and used the polygon deleater to get rid of the ones I couldn't vertex out.

Just an advice, not 100% sure but I think the automatic polygon deleter has a problem. Sometimes it does not let you vertex (ais won't open the model) after you delete a polygon with it. If this happened, try hexing them out manually, its not hard and there is a tutorial and a videotutorial (I believe) as well.
