is it possible to remove parts of imports? the same way that it could be done with brawl characters?
i wanted to try, but i wouldnt know where to start looking as im not even sure how its done.
(i wish brawlbox had it like PMD editor, click and drag to select an area then delete it. simple as that)

you can probably save it as DAE, delate in 3ds max and reexport as DAE. Or if the part you wanna delate has its own unique material you can use it to make it invisible. Just make the cull mode to be "cull_inside" in brawlbox (65). It is a flag in previous versions, I do not remember which one.

Not everything can be invisible by textures. Some stuff gets a weird glitch that make them "steal" textures from other things. oh, and the "cull inside". What I mean is that if that part of the model has its own material (a material only for that part) then you go to that material. If you are using brawlbox 65, you will see that somewhere it says "cull mode". You set the mode to "cull all"(my bad, it was all, not inside ) and it will be invisible.

Open model in brawlbox 65. Go to the material you want to "disapear" Go to the Options under "Material" Here you will see stuff like the MDL0 Offstet, the ID, etc the 10th option says "cull Mode", right under "clip mode" and above "allow transparency". You click the Bold leters next to Cull mode, and in the drop down list select "Cull All" Preview and that material should have disapeared

alright, i do have the right version. i thank you for being this patient with me but im gonna have to ask more as this just brings me back to square 1.
i open brawlbox 65 and where do i go from there? you go to the mterial i want to 'dissappear' but im not even sure how to find that. do i need to be viewing the model to do this or do i need to open the model up and go into its 'materials' folder?

Open the model, preview it and search for the polygon you want to go bye bye. (check uncheck boxes to find its name) Once you have the name, go to the objects folder and look for it. find what material it uses, It has to be the only one using It. Then go to the material folder, find the one you need Go to the Options under "Material" Here you will see stuff like the MDL0 Offstet, the ID, etc the 10th option says "cull Mode", right under "clip mode" and above "allow transparency". You click the Bold leters next to Cull mode, and in the drop down list select "Cull All" Preview and that material should have disapeared
Note: If the material of the object you want to disapear is shared with another object, you could do this: -Select the MDL0 (the gray file) and either right clic > New material or ctrl-H. -A new material will be created. Name it whatever you want (For example sake, I´ll call it invisible material) -In the invisible material (the one you just created) look for the Cull mode. Change it to Cull all. -Identify the name of the polygon you want to disapear -Find it in the object folders -Under "Varios"(probably misc in yours, not sure though) look for the "material" option -Change the material of said polygon (object or whatever you call it) to the invisible material (the one created) -Preview your model and that polyogon now should have dissapeared.
Hope this helps. If anything is not clear, just ask.

THANK YOU! i had no idea where i was supposed to be looking. ill have to wait till i am able to use my SD card again to try this out further, but i tested it on a default model.
EDIT: i re aquired the model i wanted to edit and i had to use option 2 of your explanation and it seems to work, but it is borrowing from the shoe texture.
do you think i could make a new material for each polygon and try it that way or is there a better fix for the texture problem. (or did it work and its just glitchy?)

I forgot to that maybe you will need to add a texture for the invisible material (use one already in there) Just clic the "+" next to the created material, clic the file below it and change the texture, just chose one from the drop down list. When there is no texture some parts of the model "steal" textures. Anyway, using a new material for that polygon and putting it to cull all will be able to make it disapear.
