This one happened today
I was playing Multiman Brawl after i edited it, I picked my character, the disc stopped and then it said "An error has occurred. Press the eject button, remove the game disk, and turn off the power to the console. Please read the Wii operations manual for further instructions."

ok, it started doing this before good vertexing came around, first it was when I played SMG for at least 10 Hours... Does my wii need a update?

No, your Wii has been getting more dust than usual and can't read the disk(s). Either deal with it, get a "Wii Lens Cleaner", or get a new Wii.
