Okay I have inserted most of my characters into brawl and most of them worked, however some of them did not. It seems that the characters I am having trouble putting into brawl are the ones with movesets.

I've noticed that most the characters I had trouble putting in the game have the MOTION FILES.

For example

Fitmarth.psc
Fitmarth.pac
FitmarthmotionEct.pac

There are many characters like that,  that I downloaded.

I've only got one of the marths to work.

Correct me or tell me if I am doing this right.

It seems to me that you can only have one motion file in a characters folder?

When I had two motion files in marths folder it did not work but when I deleted the motion file than inserted the new one it worked.

So heres my questions.

CAN YOU HAVE MORE THAT ONE MOTION FILE IN A CHARACTER FOLDER?
for example can you have more than one moveset for each character color

Like for marth could his original color have a moveset and his red color have another moveset, or can you only have one moveset per character?

MY PROBLEM IS THE CHARACTERS WITH MOVESETS, I DON'T FULLY UNDERSTAND HOW TO GET THE Movesets in the game.

I HAVE PUT IN THE TEXTURES BUT ONLY HAD SUCCESS WITH ONE MOVESET WiTH mARTH

PLEASE HELP.

You can only have one moveset for all the colors.

    So for example..
    1. You download a PSA file and it comes with Fit(character name).pac and Fit(character name)Motionetc.pac

You can only have one FitMarthMotionetc and one FitMarth.pac
Movesets dont have numbers by the way, only textures do.

Textures come in .pcs and sometimes together with .pac. THOSE have numbers.

Thanks for replying and ya I kinda figured that because 2 days ago only when I deleted the MotionEct.pac files and replaced it with the new MotionEct.pac files from the character PSAs I downloaded they worked.

So thanks I know how to insert, textures and movesets now.

The only thing I don't know how to do right now is insert the roster picture or the cps or whatever its called lol, ill figure out soon though.

So I do know how to insert characters and their movesets but can any of you explain what every file exactly does, I'm not asking for help putting them together I already know how I just don't know in detail what every file does. For example

FitMario.pcs is just the texture right, so that is just the new skin

FitMario.pac - now I don't fully understand this, is this the actual moveset or what exactly is this, I know that this goes along with the .pcs but what exactly is this file?
because sometimes I will download a character and it wont have a .pcs file it will only come with a .pac file?

Because I always thought the .pcs file was the texture and not the .pac file but for some reason if I downloaded a .pac file and put it in brawl it will still show the texture even though its just one .pac file?

And I'm guessing that the motion files are maybe character animations?

Pretty much can you explain what each file is exactly

.pcs - this is the only one i know for sure what it is lol

    .pac

    MotionEct.pac

I don't fully understand what those exactly are even though I understand how to put them in the game lol

    There's two types of .PAC's

FitMario##.pac = is for textures that only works for Solo modes.
FitMario.pac = Is for movesets and has no numbers.
FitMarioMotionetc.pac = is for custom animations for the character. No numbers

Oh okay thanks I was wondering why when I opened a characters folder there was different pac files

Like lets say I opened marths fighter folder I would see this stuff

    FitMarth.pac
    FitMarth01.pcs
    FitMarth01.pac
    MarthMotionEct.pac or whatever

I always wondered why there was a .pac with no numbers, I know that 00 is the original color so I was thinking oh maybe FitMarth.pac means 00 because there is no number?

But I get it now, FitMarth.pac is the moveset because there are no numbers

    FitmarthXX.pac means replace the number
    FitMarth00.pac
    FitMarth01.pac

Okay I get it now those arnt the movesets.

K I should be good now on putting knowing all that stuff about putting characters into brawl, now I just need those damn roster pictures in now lol

    For the roster pictures..

I suggest looking for your favorite ones on SJS's thread.
    http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=8348.0

Unfortunately he has no Marth poses yet.

If you find any other picture you want to use, it needs to be in 128x160 and a transparent backround. I suggest Paint.NET or GIMP 2.0 for the transparent backround.

To insert the pictures i use this program.
    http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=24955

    What you do is is:
    1. Take a common5.pac and place it where that program is located
    2. Go to All Files > System > common5_en.pac
    3. Click browse and select your common5.pac
    4. Go to Simple > Fighters > Any character > Default or Any colors
    5. Click on Fit(Character)##.psc/pac and a photo of the character should appear.
    6. Click on the photo of the character and select the image that you want to use.
    7. Save it and thats it.

If you dont have a common5.pac, its right here:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?mdtddxcmaly

    Rename it to common5.

    common5 goes in pf>systems folder
