Does anyone know where the Character Marks (SSBB symbol, mushroom, Triforce) and names that show up on the result screen are located? I've replaced them everywhere I could find, but the ones on the result screen haven't changed.

    Not unless they're in MiscData[30], which BrawlBox doesn't recognize. Come to think of it, at least the names might be in one of the MSBINs I never bothered editing in some menu/info/common/whatever file... But I still have no idea where the marks could be.

    I don't know what kind of data STGRESULT's MiscData[30] is, but BrawlBox 0.66b shows it as a question mark and therefore it can't be edited. I'd say the chance of it containing any textures or message data is slim.

    What's so surprising about that? Previous versions of BB didn't recognize many data types which are recognized now.

    Take a look yourself if you don't believe me. STGRESULT does not have the marks or the names. Neither does Result_en.brres.

    That won't change anything. Earlier versions of BrawlBox will recognize less kinds of data, not more. For example, the version of BrawlBox I usually use (0.63d 4.2) doesn't recognize two of STGRESULT's MiscData entires. 0.66b only has one it doesn't recognize, with the other one now being recognized as STPM.

    That's not the issue, anyway. I seriously doubt that MiscData[30] has any textures in it, so it's not what I'm looking for. I am using a clean STGRESULT file, so trust me: They're not in there.

    The marks are not textures, in fact they are models in MiscData 110 in STGResult.pac.
    The names appear else where, in main.dol they are located.

    You're knowledgeable! And you're right. The marks are models with no textures at all... How weird. Everywhere else in the entire game, they're textures.

    Thank you!

    I'd really like to see this screenshot, then, from your computer:

    Okay. I'd just be really surprised if your BrawlBox can identify that specific MiscData[30]. I don't mean MiscData[30] in general, or from another stage or file. I mean STGRESULT's MiscData[30].

    @SomeKindOfMetroid
    If you wanted to changed the names refer to this, it'll give you an idea how to and if you scroll down it shows an example of someone changing Marth's name to Roy.

    Haha, I just found that by Googling, and I had already figured I might need a hex editor. Thanks though!

    Um... an XML patching like this...

    Code:
    <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBE/shared/" disc="/" />

    ...should include main.dol, right? Since it just flat-out replaces the root.

    Oh, not sure since I don't use riivolution, but try it since main.dol is in the root, yes.
