I have gone through the old pages and guides, and came up with nothing helpful, so I want to make ONE thread with all of my questions, and if they were answered already, oh well, because 36 whole pages is quite a bit to sort through. This will keep it nice and organized! Tres bien!

Question 1:
As you all may know, I am trying to make Cosmo and Wanda, and the eyes are a bugger to work with. My GOAL is to get rid of all eye textures, that way the face will remind. Sure, they won't blink, but who'll really care?

The eyes are _04 files, if that means anything. I have tried making them Magenta, which was comical to look at, and I tried deleting them, but that resulted in the darndest thing, the eyes were STILL THERE! Without a single place on the SD card to get the data to make the eyes, they were still there.

For the record, I use ASH and GIMP.

Question 2:
I got it to work ONCE, but I no longer have access to that SD card, so I need to fix it again. The stupid Pokemon refuse to stay en hack when they switch. The last thing I tried was removing EVERYTHING from their folders on zee SD card and putting in only 1 .pcs file each. I want them ALL shiny dammit!

Question 3:

I know this is quite the stretch, but can I remove Dedede's hammer? If so, how? I got rid of HIS eyes to make a Snorlax, but the same method didn't work on his hammer, I am sorry to say. The reason I think this is possible because I have seen the ICs lose there hammers, and speaking of which, how do you do that?

So, to keep it short,

Questions

1 - How can I get rid of the Ice Climbers' eyes?

2 - How can I have the Pokemon keep their textures when they switch? (Need .pacs)

3 - How can I remove Dedede's hammer, if it is even possible?

To repeat, I use GIMP and ASH.

    2. You need their .pac files so they keep their texture. When they transform, the .pcs does not load.

    3. You'll need to hex it off, I can do that for you, if you want.

That's nice, but if I need to do it in the future, I don't want to have to call you over and over again! The guilt, she would be tres powerful! :,-(

Is Hexing hard in GIMP? Is it hard in general?

You can't hex in GIMP. Only in a hex editor.

Now how to I get my hands on one of those? What are some examples of hex editors?

Hex Workshop is in the Noob Guide (the stickied topic is this board), and HxD is a good one.

I found a list of compatibilities for transparency for all the .tga types, making me realize why the hammer's disappearance would require more than just different coloring. However, I also wanted to remove his arms, which is a 14 file, but when I made them invisible (checker boxes and what not) I got nothing. I'm going to try Magenta now, but if it doesn't work, why not? Is the compatibility selective?

EDIT: he looked quite silly with the pink!

Sometimes some texture formats that suport transparency, can't be transparent.

The Ice Climbers are flat-eyed, so their eyes can't be transparent.  This applies to ALL characters with flat-eye textures.

Also, any texture named tex#00_04, does NOT support transparency.  Therefore, you're wasting your time if you think that you can make those kinds of texture parts transparent.  Only by manual hexing will that be possible.
