Rel. ported PSAs work on Brawl Minus?

I just download brawl minus but I still want to keep the rel. ported characters that need codes for them to work 
like Viewtiful Joe over Yoshi for example. Will putting the codes in the brawl minus TXT file still work ingame?

To be clear, I mean that rel. ported characters that need to have their codes on to a gct file, which I'm wondering if I can still use the codes on brawl minus. Reason being because I hate playing as yoshi and I still want to play as Viewtiful Joe over him.
