Hello,
After the effort of finding character models and putting them in Brawl, I'd now want to put in custom CSP to avoid confusion in the future. Much to my dismay... I am unable to do so.

I did all the steps followed in numerous tutorials on the subject: I re-sized the file to 128x160 and even indexed the colour of the image as mentioned in a video tutorial. I used the common5_en file (since I use Riivolution and a PAL English copy of the game), found the file and replaced it with no issues. Saved it and then... it doesn't show up in the game.

I don't know if it's an issue regarding where I placed my common5_en file or something else entierly. The file is located here: X/private/wii/app/RSBP/pf/system . I also have files called module, menu and menu2 as well as having pfmenu2 and st in the RSBP folder.

Any assistance you give to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.

Hello dude check this:

Maybe you need to put the selcharacter.pac in the folder of menu2 at the same time that you put the file in common5.pac

I don't use the the common5.pac because I'm Gecko's code user... but only with putting the selcharacter.pac in the folder of menu2 works for me, maybe this help you.

I suppose that you replaced the sel_selcharacter.pac from inside the common5.pac
that is?

Make sure to put the sel character pac in the menu2 like stated and to overwrite the common5.pac with the new sel character pac you've made.

Open common5.pac and you'll see sel_character.pac in there.  Replace it. Commons go in the systems folder.

From the tutorials I have read and seen, I have seen that people like me who use Riivolution say that you shouldn't use a sc_selectcharacter.pac when modding.
I should also add that I didn't get a sc_selectcharacter.pac in the folders I was given, so how can I replace something that isn't even there?

EDIT: I managed to get it working! I just exported the selectcharacter.pac file form the common5_en and placed it into the menu2 folder. Thank you very much for your answers, they were a big help!

Do you have a systems folder? Is there a common pac file in there? If there is, is it named common#.pac or common#_en.pac?

Whatever it is make sure its consistent with the selcharacter pac you will download from the resources tab. What I mean by consistent is that if it ends in en for your common#pac may sure it ends in en for the sel character pac you will download.

Resources
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/Resources.php

Scroll to the bottom and clock the down arrow for the data partition you're using. Region PAL or Region NTSC. It's labeled.

Go into the menu2 folder and find a sel character pac. download it.

Open it with brawl box.

Make your changes. Save. Copy it to your sd card

X://private/wii/app/rsb*/pf/menu2

Then Use brawl box to open your common5 pac located in the systems folder

X://private/wii/app/rrsb*/pf/system

(It should be there..)

Replace the selcharacter_en.pac with the one we just saved. Make sure its renamed to "selcharacter_en.pac" because thats what brawlbox is looking to replace.

Save.

Try that.
