Okay, I have been working on things like textures and vertexes for a while now but I would like to try to make a custom voice pack. I already have Sawndz and Super Sawndz and have inserted a pre-made voice pack that worked. I've been looking around for a couple of weeks, but I either can't find the best one or I have been looking in the wrong area. So my problems are:

1. How to proper convert .wav files in Super Sawndz. The tutorials I have seen didn't explain it well or went back to Sawndz to do it.

2. When I use Sawndz to convert the .wav, create a .sawndz, and insert it through Super Sawndz, it crashes. Is this a normal thing?

2. How to edit the character.pac file so certain sfx will only occur for certain actions. This is for the voices and not for any general sfx.

If you know any good tutorials or useful downloads, please link them. I really appreciate any help I can get.

I don't know if there are tutorials that are simple, but I'm just going to help you. Cheesy

To read this you need to have patience and also the knowledge of reading Tongue

So if you wanna convert .wav files in Super Sawndz you gotta have smashbros_sound.brsar
    Here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/p01chjw1j1k4zuz/b8xvd5a-AG/sound/smashbros_sound.brsar

    To convert wav into sawnd:
Open smashbros_sound.brsar in Super Sawndz and then on the side you'll see character voices, character calls, etc.

Pick the one you wanna edit and look for the voices that you wanna replace

After you found it click the "..." button and it will tell you to look for the wav file that contains the voice/sound you wanna replace the original with.  Then insert it and it will replace the voice that you picked.

You can only edit voices of one character at a time.

After you replace all the voices you wanna change go back to the character's name and click it.  After that press Create Sawnd.  Use the group id number for the name.
    example.. For lucas' group id

So if it's lucas it will be 32.sawnd.

Then put it in SD Card>private>wii>app>RSBE>pf>sfx
It will replace the voice of the character you edited (That is if you named the file correctly)

Don't forget to activate the code created by the most amazing people (InternetExplorer, Dantarion)  Grin

And if you wanna edit the character.pac don't grow to BrawlBox.  Use Smash Attacks
In Smash Attacks you can edit sfx, gfx, etc.
    Smash Attacks Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/uo44vuhvi6jddr8/d4fQzP4XOS/PSA%202.65.rar

Open the Fit[character].pac.  So read this  carefully, ok?

After opening the .pac click Sub Actions.
Then for the event list pick sfx.

So let's see.... Ok so I'm editing Peach's voice and you pick anything you want.

Let's say for Peach I want to put a voice when Peach slaps.  So the voice will be from her Side Special.. You know the attack where she hits people with her bottom and says "Ha-Chaa!!!

So in the bottom I'll say add.  (IF you want to remove all the sound and voices in a certain attack remove all the SFX and Asynchronus and Synchronus timer.)

It will say No Action.  Double Click then a window will pop up. And in that window click Change.  Look for sound effect and click it.  And in the parameter box click sound effect.  Two things will show up after clicking Sound effects the Value Box and the Type Box.  In the value box put in an id of a voice/sound effect.
In this thread look for the part where it says this and tells you the link to ALL voices/sfx (Yes that includes general ones)
"For a list of absolutely all of the SFX, see here: [Link] "

I can't give the link to you directly, because somehow it will take you to nowhere sorry Sad

After putting the id, press done.  (If you want to put more sounds/voices then add more)

NOW!!! It's time to change the timing of the sounds, which is very easy by the way.
First you have to know the meaning of the two timers.
Asynchronus Timer: starts counting from the beginning of the animation
Synchronus Timer: starts counting when the previous event is done

Let's say I want to put the "Ha-Chaa!!!" sound after she hits with her second slap (I know it's kind of weird having to say that after you attack)

So let's open BrawlBox. Preview the model and load in the Fit[character]MotionEtc.pac
Then look for the frame you want to put the voice/sound .  So for Peach the ending frame of her second slap is 28.

Use Asynchronus Timer FIRST B4 Synchronus.. example:  Awesome Face
    Asynchronus Timer:frames=28
    Sound Effect: 5C1
    Synchronus:frames=2
    Sound Effect: 5CF

So then after 28 frames the sound will activate so in other words she will say "Ha"
Then after 2 frames from the previous event she "Chaa!!!" \
You can do this with any sound. General SFX or Voices. You just have to have the ids of the voices and sound.  In the list of sound you can identify whether the sound is voice or just a general sfx.
vc is for voice and se is for sound effects

So basically you're doing PSA editing and sound replacing

I hope this helps.. Bye Now Angel

Sorry for being late, been experimenting with a ton of things. Now for the sound I understand how to find the file, but when I try to insert it I get this message "Missing sndconv.exe: unable to convert wav file"

Oh, that thing.  Yah I've been there before.  Ok now listen,
I don't know why they didn't put the sndconv.exe in the Super Sawndz folder, but I think if you download the normal sawndz, the sndconv.exe is in there, but if it's not then here.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/zq6swjjx33pb78w/sndconv.exe

Just put it in the folder where yur SuperSawndz is then it's all good 2 go  Smiley

Thanks, I been looking for this for a while. Now do I run the sndconv.exe before using supersawndz or is there something else to do?

No you don't have to do anything.  As long as the sndconv.exe is in the folder where SuperSawndz is, you can just insert the wav file now.  Smiley

Alright thanks. Just got two more issues before finishing what I need to make:
    1. What is an average .sawndz file size limit for character voices?
    2. How do I keep the size of the voice clips to be a low as possible, but still loud enough to match the volume of other fighters?

I think the average size limit have to be at least lower then 1 MB.
If it goes over 1 MB the game crashes.

If you want to make it loud. You have to use Audacity on these one to match the other fighters' voices and it will also keep the file's size low.
