I've been running into trouble when trying to replace WarioWare's preview picture with that of RandomTBush's World Tournament.  The level itself, the icon, name bar, and everything else all work fine, but I am unable to get the large preview image working properly (the game freezes when I try to go to level select). After some trial and error, I thought it might be a filesize issue (as WarioWare's preview is only 16.9 kbs) but even after nuking the quality of my desired preview image until it was 16.5 kbs I still get freezes.
I then noticed that attempting to import ANY picture over the Warioware preview would give me crashes, including pictures that worked fine for other stages. This led me to notice that, according to Brawlbox, WarioWare's preview has just under 1900 colors, whereas most other stages' previews have upwards of 2000 (and both TBush's preview image and my attempts at making my own tend to number close to 18 thousand for some reason), which could explain the freezes. So, for testing purposes, I used a 30 color version of the preview picture...and still a freeze
I'm thinking that perhaps the colors of the preview picture need to number exactly the same as that of the original (which according to tutorials, is true of CSPs, so that makes sense). Does anyone know if this is the case? And if it is, how might I go about this in photoshop? (I know about setting the colors of CSPs using Index Color mode, but that only goes up to 256).
Any help would be appreciated.
