How do i make the "Shield Bubble" invisible with Brawl Box?

What i want to do is actually just make the shield bubble dissapear entirely.
What i attempted first was to originally edit and erase the bubble shield in the common5.pac file in brawl box.
I basically erased it in photoshop so i kept the same transparency and file but it seams that it actually made it brighter when i loaded it up in the game lol.
What would i need to change to change or make the bubble shield invisible?
Thanks in advance.

Did you try using Color Quantizer(In my tutorial:
http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=68678
), and a bitmap with a single dot, to make a full-alpha-except-for-one-dot-that-you-can-easily-hide texture to import over it?
