LONG Version
Hey so I just jumped on this train that brawl modding is, and i've noticed that there aren't too many guides that a new person trying to change the game would understand. I have been figuring out most things by downloading a pack and taking it apart from the inside out. One thing that I can not figure out is how to replace the stage names of a character. I downloaded secretchaos1's pack (One of the best packs I've downloaded by the way) and replaced simon belmont with a old monster hunter psa (because I love monster hunter and was maining him on the brawl4all pack) I managed to replace the psa,csp,bsp,rsp,etc but could not find the result name file location so after giving up on my reverse engineering I went to seek directions and found ASF1nk's Misc codes which I think has what I want. Seems cut in dry but I didn't know what to do with it so I searched again found that code is put in the RSBE01.gct and maybe the character.rel (maybe?) so I used the string to hex listed in the post to look in the gct for the hex the means simon and belmont but was unable to find anything in the .gct so I thought the character.rel must hold the code for the character makes sense to me I opened it with HXD Editor or something like that came in one for the packs and no simon in there either. So i'm am at a brick wall and need help and the more I write the more you will feel bad if you don't help me

I need help replacing Simon Belmont's result screen name from Secretchaos1's pack to Monster Hunter or even Hunter would do.

The corresponding IDs for BrawlEx configs are documented in the Cosmetic Config file. If you open the file in a hex editor, you'll see that one part of the data corresponds with the text of the character result screen name . just replace that with whatever you wish and save, make sure to insert over top of the old name so that you don't change the file size of the config.
