About Bowser's Castle

Bowser has invited you to visit his home turf - and you don't say 'no' to Bowser, do you? Those who have played any Mario game will know it will not be a pleasant visit. Luckily for you, this stage is relatively tame. Three almost horizontal platforms over a pillar won't interrupt the battle too much. Be wary though: don't try to mess with the lava here! Touch it and you may find yourself in a huge pickle. With his large size and sheer power, the Koopa King himself may prove to be the greatest threat here!

Design Influences

This version of Bowser's Castle uses part of an SSE stage, but one that reminds heavily of the second area of Mario Galaxy's Bowser's Galaxy Generator. The pillar itself is based on the starting platform of the same level. The metal platforms are seen in various iterations of Bowser's Castle, as are carpets (or flags, for that matter) featuring Bowser's icon.

Functionality and Layout

The layout of the stage is a three platform triangle, akin to Battlefield, but there are a few differences in their locations relative to each other. All three platforms are almost at the same height; the top platform is slightly lowered compared to Battlefield's top platform; the side platforms are just slightly lower than the top platform and are moved to the end of the stage.

The edges are also raised slightly, and there is a large wall. The blastzones are fairly large, which can make getting a clean kill rather difficult for some characters. (But this is Bowser's stage after all, and he has no trouble with that!) The bottom blastzone is also rather unique, in that it is almost perfectly leveled with the lava model in the background, so don't touch the lava!

Aesthetic Extras

This stage goes over Mario Circuit by default, as well as Final Destination and Luigi's Mansion without the need for a REL file. Two versions of the stage are included in the main download link: one for vanilla Brawl, the other for the latest version of Project M. Both packages include a pack of songs that fit the intense, fiery atmosphere of the stage, as well as several portraits that can be used to replace an existing stage or a newer slot via the Classic Expansion, etc. There's also an optional REL file for those who'd prefer to use the stage over Rainbow Cruise instead of the stages just listed, however you will not have as many choices for music if used over Rainbow Cruise.

Future updates are also planned for Bowser's Castle, such as new and improved models, animated platforms, and other various goodies such as animated Podoboos and the old school axe from the original Super Mario Bros. for the NES.

Kain, the king of the vampire empire of Nosgoth has used the time streaming device to come to the far distant future. He finds Nosgoth is no more and decides to take over the realm he has appeared in.

Raziel has followed Kain to the time streaming device once again, only to have him escape once more. Blindly leaping into the portal, Raziel finds himself in the far distant future and finds Kain there waiting for him.

Pokemon X/Y Lumiose City Gym

               

After a horribly long 5 hours of tedious re-positioning of stage builder block models I finally finished                                                                           this stage and I'm happy with the final product. There are 2 versions included within the download. One with platforms on each side of the arena and another with no platforms at all (as seen in the video). The stage goes over Battlefield with no rel.file.
