That's it! I'm giving up on this guide which tells me I need fourty-kajillion things that it turns out I don't need at all!

According to Dantarion (I haven't tested this myself), the SD Loader is not, at the time of this writing, fully compatible with music titles yet. The mu_menumain.pac (the file for titles in My Music) does not work at all, and info_en.pac (for the titles at the start of a game) has specific requirements. Both work perfectly in the ISO.

And... it clearly says you don't need the ISO for music titles outside of My Music.

"This file does not work with the SD Loader. This other one does. Both work in the ISO."

    Looks clear to me.

But hey, do whatever you want.

In other words: "Get the ISO"

If you want to change the titles in My Music, yes. That's entirely your call.

Ok, arguments aside (and admitting this whole guide confuses me to no end) what do I need to change music titles at all?

You need to read the relevant section of the guide for the set of titles you want to change.

Oh yeah, and that's worked out well so far.

It's not complicated. Info.pac has a tool that lets you make titles any length and creates a new info.pac for you. The My Music pac is slightly harder to modify, but there's a tool for it that simplifies some of the work. Everything you need is in the Tools section. I seriously don't know what else to tell you besides "Read the guide and stop acting like it's written in Russian."

Ahhhh.. you should of said "mandarin chinese" instead of "russian". (It would of made snarky remark more snarky.)
