There won't be any need to report those, as the blackout is temporary ... But I expect not everyone to follow that advice, so we might have a few unnecessary reports, today.

It's it about time for a refresh of those lists or something? Like setting those to zero and letting some other ones shine? It's based on statistics. Said stats would be the same before and after a refresh, netting absolutely no change.

This. That stat is the 'balance' to the top contributers (most hacks) / top downloads [artist] (most total downloads). People with more hacks are less likely to show up there as their average download count is less (total downloads / total hacks)

Just want to say thanks for the popup about opposing SOPA and PIPA, and for changing the blog.

We gotta do something about the unapproved hacks. Some have been sitting there since December and they have no gotten any proper preview pics or videos. Can there be a rule or something that if an unapproved hack isn't approved for over a month, it gets removed? The noobs just leave their improperly-previewed hacks and never return

I agree, that's been bothering me as well.
How about we notify them when the hack is older then 2 weeks and has no working/valid previews. If they do not respond in 2 weeks after the PM was sent, remove the hack with the reason being "Removed for not providing valid previews, you were notified through PM about providing valid previews."
Just an idea though.

The noobs just leave their improperly-previewed hacks and never return The problem is that in many cases, while the previews are busted, the hacks themselves are perfectly legit. In those cases it might be better to add proper previews ourselves (by means of the community help thread). Of course, this is assuming that the uploaders haven't returned since uploading. If they've come back repeatedly and still haven't done anything about the previews, then yeah, they should probably be removed. Also, I think that it'd be OK to nuke unapproved hacks with no DLs, but that goes without saying.

Well, true that the downloads work perfectly fine, but it shouldn't be up to us to provide proper previews for the hacks.

I fully agree with that, but in the case of guys uploading stuff and never coming back, we can't exactly make them come back and fix the previews, so in those cases we can fix those ourselves. Still, for guys that DO come back and STILL don't fix the previews, those shouldn't be our problem.

I'm not exactly sure where I should post this, but...
As of today, Megaupload has been sued and is shut down. All uploads from that site are now gonna be gone.
