Nice!
Good Job!
added ganon and link csps
how do you do these they seem like they are in game but how would you get them perfect pose that way?
brawl box
i tried that but ran into the eye problem what do you do about that?
some characters have eye problems like ike and zs samus
in that case you should put a complete white texture in Eye_White to later edit with gimp, photoshop, etc.
The characters here dont have that problem
what are you talking about every character i open has weird eyes
put a picture of that problem here

Perfect timing for you to come in play when SJS leaves ;)

I was about to say that. Thanks for the Cloud Portraits.
so what character should I do next?
You have some talent man, I would like to request Zelda portraits but with SJS's Zelda template.
my method is using brawlbox for the csps
so if anyone has an animation of the zelda of sjs
I will do it
oh nice, glad to see you made some csps for my hacks. hope to see more! ;D

My CSPs aren't from animations, they're Photoshoped pictures.
I really don't think they can be duplicated in BrawlBox.
i know the way you do is photoshop but i had a theory if someone who knows how to animate just make the animation for like wait 1 for every character then you do the same thing renkaken does for exact pose

In theory, it sounds possible. And it would certainly make CSPs (especially vertex hacks) easier to make. It might be just me, but the colors on the textures on Brawlbox seem dull.
But then if everyone could just press ctrl+prt sc in BrawlBox, what use would I be? Besides, Photoshopping is more fun ;D
idk what use you would be then (don't take it the wrong way lol) but it would be much easier and you said you wouldn't be able to do much work now
Renkaken what do you think about this pose for Zelda?

wow those are really nice and think about it if you reverse them with gimp they should be nearly exact to sjs's style
working on zero recolor pack for tomoroow
diggin the csps, could you tell me your method to making them. i understand in brawlbox with the same animation but how about on the same angle? Also how about making the eyes? Id really love to learn how to make these, thanks.

same angle with textures: in model viewer replace the textures of the character
same angle with vertexes: export the chr0 and modify the scale , rotation, translation to the whole body too look nice in reset camera
eyes/ faces normal: unchecking polygons, textures
eyes small and duplicated: replace eyewhite with a total white or other color texture , to later edit with gimp or photoshop, open as layer the eye texture and scale and move it to match the face
@ Renkaken
thanks man, this is so helpful. :)
Wow these looks beautiful man I'm so using these!

Jesus, that was quick! oh and renkaken i need some info on making these, i got the print screen of the csp but idk how to put it on a csp and make it the same size. Like i'll export the csp from selcharacter.pac but when i try to put the print screen over it, i can never get them as the same size, just tell me what you do PLZ?!
like id said open all of your print screens as layers in gimp or photoshop
eliminate the useless parts of the prints screens
resize the images to the proper size and the canvas size to 128x160

Thanks, im gonna need try this now.
Simply amazing work renkaken. With Beyond working solely on character edits and "D" absent from the site, there hasn't really been a user dedicated to making in-game brawl portraits for the latest texture updates. I appreciate the work you've done and am eagerly awaiting future updates.

I am honestly in awe at your portraits. These are, by far, the most perfect set of portraits to EVER grace these forums.
nice! can you the black master cheif please?
Nice CF portraits man! You really do have some talent.
Who are you doing next? You said you do original portraits as well right? If so could you do some Wolf ones? I love his original pose too much.
Also, when you do Lucario and Ike, I suggest you use the same poses as Mewtwo and Cloud, this will make it so that the people who use Mewtwo and Cloud and one slot costumes, like myself, can put them in without having mixed poses.
Edit: Otherwise, make another portrait of them so that they match the pose that is chosen for Lucario and Ike.

PS I've also noticed you took my suggestion about the banner. Very nice! How do you make that?

I know this seems a bit of a silly request since it's not a custom costume, but if you could make a Dark Toon Link CSP, that would be fantastic. The same Dark Toon Link that comes with the game.

Shame to hear that about your Brawl Disk, but considering your CSPs are still done in BrawlBox, you can still do them, right?

I never released it. I sent a special copy to Renkaken so he could do a copy. Talk to me on MSN I'll send it to you.
Hey Renkaken nice Mewtwo portraits man! Much better than the old pose. Could you do some for the roy ones but with the Isaac hair? The ones I have on my vault, it needs the fitmotion thats in the downloads.
If you could do some for that Roy with a different pose where he looks more manly if you know what I mean ;)

Also what character should i revamp
Mario, for sure.
His CSPs are too close to his model compared to the others.
Ganon needs a revamp.
His pose isn't really a pose, he's just standing there. He deserves something more "dynamic."

Hey Renkaken could you revamp your Marth/Roy ones?
Make them bigger like the Wolf, Pit, and the new Samus ones.
i noticed on the alphonse portrait the eyes were a little messed up i think you can make it normal though by going through the polygons stil i love these portraits though :D
Thanks for the Lloyd csps.

Both (if possible). Make them individually and then add them together as layers. Save the position for the layers and just paste over that...
both but it seems like it will take a while to satisfy everyone with that though that's why i held back with pokemon trainer lol
I think you should make PT separate and Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard separate as well.
Quote from: ItalianStallion on September 16, 2010, 03:21:52 AM
I think you should make PT separate and Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard separate as well.
I think this is the best idea: Make one of them together (in whatever pose you are doing) and then all the rest separate. For example, a set of the Metroid trainer. Also include each of them individually. For all of the other textures, just do them individually in separate sections. Give everyone the gimp file for the combination and let us take the individual ones you make to combine as we please.

ok here's my take I'm not sure if the white outline is necessary as most people don't select them that way anymore, charizard's eyes may be a little big just by a small amount, squirtle is obvious, and ivysuar's eyes are strange, anyway i really like that but you should have the pokeball in front of the pokemon, also when you have made a final one you better like it because those are the last ones i would want to remake

Any chance of filling this request?
Pik worked on a Palutena texture at one stage for Zelda, however his other projects took priority at the time and sadly it was never released on the Brawl Vault. While it only had an obscure release on Smashboards, a CSP would be most welcome.

I expected as much, which is why I didn't expect Toucan Sam to be attempted at this point as there was no Falco CSP category (not including Captain Falco). However, I did see a wolf category so I thought Zangoose was a possibility. Perhaps the vertex edits to the Wolf model were too great.

I tried to edit with gimp and was very bad.

Could you do the Sora recolour pack http://www.mediafire.com/?c123589b2eva6bi
but without shields in the csps?
I would like a SkullKid(BeyondYou) CSS Icon, you already made a CSP for him.

I can do it im mad bored right now..
Hey, Renkaken, could you make new Zero CSP's for Link?
I noticed you made one of the vertexed Zero's textures (the original) but there is also a blue, green, white-ish, gold, black, virus (purple), fierce diety and Omega Zero texture.
I would be SUPAH-DUPAH-HAPPAY if you made these.

Very Nice! Now, I've got complete sets for Link, Marth and Samus. Thanks a ton!
You should do Zero in a new pose to the side, kind of like SJS. Those portraits to the side always look the bed, just look at your Samus, Pit, Ness ones.
Omg, very good job ! Thanks renkaken !

Agreed. I thought the pose to the side was fitting for Zero as well, which is what lead me to have a go at creating one myself (inspired by Dirtboy's one of course). This is what I ended up with:
I'm hardly as proficient in making them as all you guys but I'm happy with how it turned out. If something along these lines could be recreated by your good self renkaken, then that would be awesome.
that's a cool one but can you remake it like that? also your using my csp as your avatar :af:
Voted Yoshi in the polls. While I wouldn't mind seeing a Zero revamp, I'm rather satisfied with the Link side of things. I'd much rather see Renkaken take on a new character.

Haha. I recall your James McCloud CSP was a little taller than your others, so he had his right ear slightly cropped. I used BrawlBox to reproduce the same look (using your pose as a base). It is still very much your work so you deserve the credit, but if you're offended by it then I'm more than happy to change it.
EDIT: Actually, I will change it. Don't want other users to get the wrong idea.
I would like to see a Zero revamp, also a Captain Falcon one.
ssj4gohan, I really like that, Renkaken, make them look something like that.
A pose where he looks like Zero, not Link ;)

I think you should put in the gun for the ones that make sense, like the default ZSS and the Jill one. But they'll still look great without it, it would be nice though. ;)
i would put the gun but how would you? brawlbox doesn't show it
That looks amazing Renkaken, love that man perfect!
The gun would look nicer, but it's not a big deal, already looks sick.
I have some request:

Not that it matters but do you convert the images to 'indexed colour' before saving them? I probably haven't kept up with the times so I still convert them out of habit of conserving file space. Avoiding that last step will allow me to keep the smoothness of the edges and keep the original quality.

Well of course. I was talking about within his bounds. For example, I have several Snakes, Ikes, Links, Pits, Marths, Sonics, ZSS, Peaches, Pokemon and Trainers, Zeldas, and Kirbys that he has not made, but has a terrific template for.

Well I usually have at least 3 of the ones Renkaken already does when first making a new character portrait. So usually I have 2 or 3 more requests so I can complete that character's slots.

Wow, those Wolf portraits are amazing! Nice job, can't wait to see your update. ;D
Epic work Renkaken!
Pro portraits mang. Once you have time and have gone through the requests, could you work on some Warioware portraits. Maybe Lord Crump, Hippie Wario, etc etc.
Just figured I'd ask. My only real request is Gohan, and maybe if you're bored do some Warioware portraits. Not expecting anything though. After all, I'm technically freeloading >.>

After so much thinking (Only one minute (http://i.imgur.com/NHO5Y.gif)) I decided to come back to CSP, but now I have a problem. After upgrading from Vista to Seven, some things changed and new previews in Brawlbox in Seven aren't the same size as the one I made in Vista. So I decided to do a "reboot" and some CSPs will stay as the same pose (obviously the better ones) and the other ones will may get a revamp. Also doing Donkey Kong as we speak.
So new poll for the one with the same pose that will get new lightning + more characters. I will do them ASAP if I can.
Also...
good to see your back to csps, you were really good.
asked for the poll i voted ike/cloud, he is in need of some good csps.
The Mewtwo ones = orgasm bro.
LOL at the DK one that I already saw on MSN ;o
I'm laughing my ass off at the poll. We can't decide.
I did however vote Link
+1 Link
What do you think? I personally think I could make them bigger, but I can't get the same "feel" when its bigger :/
DK

Yeah I really don't know what are they in, I guess I didn't unchecked some polygons. But I don't think it will be very noticeable in-game.
Wow man those f*cking DK portraits have to be the best I've ever seen. I'm a sucker for those semi sideways pics, and that show most of the body. Not a big fan of close up portraits.
I love these, downloading right now.
You have improved so much man, really.
LOCKED TOPIC!
Making Cloud when I get to fix my PC.
EDIT: I mean pool :notimp:
Your locking this just to make Cloud?
Why do people want Ike and Cloud revamps? I think those are perfect and probably one of your best.

Ike/Cloud
