Have there been any issues with the servers lately? I ask because my recent hack has been in pending limbo (if you will) for two days so far. Oddly enough, none of my previous hacks have been in that state for so long and it worries me. Should I be concerned? So bloody confused as to why General Scales still says "pending" after 48 hours.
I don't know where else this could as I don't want my hack to suddenly go awry
So apparently, it's possible to have Dolphin load SSBB hacks (and the game) simply by directing the location of the extracted ISO folder, finding the right boot.dol and apploader.bin files. However, the main.dol needs to be modified by adding eight bytes. See, if this can work, it would mean testing my hacks would go a lot smoother and a lot quick and wouldn't have to compile the ISO each time I replace the files. Smoother testing means smoother and faster work on my end. From what I gather, it's a Title ID mismatch and needs to be manually edited with a hex editor.
Open up main.dol, add eight bytes to the file size and then change them to
52 53 42 45 30 31 00 01 (either that or that last one ends in a 02)
No matter what I do, adding those causes the emulator to crash, editing the file is not working, but more on what this person said can be read here
So, in case people were wondering why I haven't rigged anything or did other hacks, it's a long story. Suffice to say it does end well. As for my absence, I feel it obligatory to the many people who had requests for character imports. My laptop was getting dangerously hot and made things difficult to test, so with a tax return, I built a custom desktop which is quite the beast when it comes to performance and stability. Dolphin runs Super Smash Brawl perfectly, this right here will help testing Brawl hacks much better in the long run.
CPU - Core i5 3570 3.4 GHz Ivy Bridge (3.8 with Turbo Boost 2.0) GPU - MSI GeForce GTX 660 2 GB GDDR2 RAM - 8192 MB DDR3 SDRAM 1333 OS - Windows 7 Professional 64-bit HDD - Western Digital 1 TB 7200 RPM
In essence, testing and creating hacks can be done with more efficacy. I apologize to anyone I may have upset during my absence. Post Merge: March 03, 2013, 03:26:50 PMWow, people sure are empathetic around here.
11/12/14 - The very character I wanted to see for a very long time, yes, Ayla from Chrono Trigger, the sexy and very strong cave-woman JLSTAR graciously made the club for her and it's been rigged as a weapon over Peach. Lots of props to him as well!
Fully rigged Recolors Club with wood textures Sexiness lol
What's included
-Recolors (ice, fire, magenta, grey, green, default purple) -Shiny and normal textures -Rigged weapons (my last version didn't have Peach's weapons for some reason) lol -Size mod and regular size versions
Here's what sets this apart from the other iterations:
- Includes colors, default (blue), ice blue, grey, green, orange and red - Has a working staff as Peach's weapon, instead of the fry pan, racket, etc, you use her staff - Custom-made battle and character selection screen portraits for all colors (six of each) for your viewing pleasure!
- And the part the makes it all the better, the rig itself has been done in a much, much cleaner more pro looking manner. How? For one, her shoulders were never rigged correctly, but now they are, not only that, so is her neck/head, arms, legs, well, everything actually!
Here's the download! Tested working perfectly in Brawl!
With that said: Here are the list of upcoming hacks to be released this week, and the next and so on:
- Bahamut over Gannondorf, from Final Fantasy X - Fifi the dog over Wolf, from Rampage Total Destruction - Wally the Warthog, also over Wolf from the same game as above - Tiny Kong and Candy Kong, also over Peach - Cloud of Darkness from Final Fantasy Dissidia over Peach
It's high time I create a thread dedicated exclusively to the imports I've been posting and will continue to post to the Vault. Only this time, I have decided that it would be in my best interest to not clutter up other in peoples' threads for the sake of advertising my projects. So, from now on, I will post progress updates on every project I work on!
It's been quite a while since I've been here and to be honest, I kind of want to give Brawl hacking another shot. The reason for my absence was for many reasons. These include:
1) Expecting too much in too little time (expecting to see instant results) 2) Comparing myself to other hackers, especially when I see masterful character mods 3) Being too hard on myself when I make a minor (or major) mistake, leading me to believe I'm doing the whole process wrong when in actuality I was more or less going in the right direction the whole time.
For these reasons, I wish to begin once again, hopefully with a more positive attitude, and knowing that I will eventually make my first character mod. I should also realize that there are numerous people on the KCMM forums who are more than willing to help with advice and what have you.
Getting back in the game will be a change to be sure, such as whether or not 3DS Studio Max 2010 or 2011 should be used (one over the other).
I also will eventually know how rigging, weighting and influences on vertices work, as I plan on getting that down, too.
So, it's blindingly obvious that I need to read many tutorials about using BrawlBox, 3DS Max and other editors if I'm to do the very thing I wish to do. Yes, I'm very new at this, and while I have some experiencing hacking the the files in the ISO (extracting it with Dolphin, changing the texture and brstm files, as well as spending several hours creating custom loops in many soundtracks), hacking the vertices/models themselves is something I wish to know more about. Recompiling the ISO image with the altered files is not an issue, so, I do have some (limited) experience hacking, but I want to learn more.
To be honest, even though I'm overwhelmed by the number of guides out there, where I need to begin and so on, I'm more than willing to learn what it takes.
What I want to accomplish from learning from the hacking tutorials:
- How to properly locate bones in the FitMotionPac files using BrawlBox* - How to properly edit said bones, hex values and so on using WindHex32 and change the values* - How to eventually learn how to import models or at least alter the textures on characters
*More specifically, there are two characters with whom I wish to alter bones with; the ThrowN bown in the FirMotionPac file. The reason being is I need the experience, as the closest tutorial I've seen isn't quite what I'm looking for (as it mentions altering the graphic without altering the throw bones - http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=37829.0 ) What I'm looking for are tutorials on the actual locating AND editing of this bone, so that it's not offset when grabbing an item and/or opponent. The characters are Wolf and the recently released Krystal over Fox mod.
I've already posted a couple of other threads similar to this, but every time I do, it just gets tossed aside like a bill going through Congress to get defeated. Please, someone, I'm willing to do what it takes, I just need to be pointed in the right direction!
So I'm trying to replace most of the BRSTM files in Brawl (and let's be honest, only some of the original songs are good, the other remixes, aren't that impressive to me), and rather than having to spend hours looping each wave-to-brstm converted song manually with BrawlBox, I wanted to download some songs from www.brawlcustommusic.com. Is it down or am I the only not able to access it? Did some government [censored]bags force its closure? Ping tests result in 100% data packet , so yeah.
