    So even though I got all that fixed, the Ridley hat will be put on hold due to filesize issues. I tried shrinking down the textures (a LOT, I might add) as well as deleting the tail, but I can't seem to find an effective way to shrink it down.

    So yeah, what kind of shrinking did you do? Did you keep the same size and kill the texture quality? Or did you change the size and keep as much of the texture quality as possible?

    .Pac files are weird in that if their textures are a certain size, the textures themselves automatically take up x amount of space.

    Example inside. *Wall of Text alert. I went overboard lol*


    I have a HQ texture that is 1024x2048


    I take this texture and kill the quality on it. The LQ version of this 1024x2048 texture is 30 KB.
    It looks like crap because it's all Jpeggy.


    Now,  I take the original HQ Version and size it to 512x512 without killing any quality. Just a straight resize.
    It's filesize is 289 KB. It's a lot bigger in filesize than the 1024x2048, but it looks pretty nice for its small boundary size.


    Now, when I imported these files into Brawlbox:

    The .Pac file that had the LQ 1024x2048 in it was 4128 KB total, but the .Pac file that had the HQ 512x512 file was 1114 KB.

    The HQ 512x512 took up less space. Exactly 3014 KB less. That's a big difference, with little in quality.

    Another good thing is that if your resize is divisible by 8 for your X and Y size coordinates, the UVs will move with the texture.

    That means that you won't have to Re-Texture the entire thing in 3DS Max. Which is good.

    Well, I went with straight up resizing the textures in GIMP in order to retain transparency. He only has three textures: two 512x512 and one 128x128 (I think)

    I shrank those waaaaaay down (to around 64x64, I believe) and it was still above the size limit.

    So I went and deleted the tail and removed the texture that went with it, and sized up the textures as much as I could (128x128) and managed to get it to just 1 KB above the original file.

    The thing is, I've lost so much quality that it doesn't even feel worth it. /:

    Oh, and I always resize my textures by a factor of two. Force of habit, heheh.

    I suppose if you really need to get it down, you can replace the unused parts of the textures with white space.

    That did shave a few KB off, but the problem is that pretty much all of the texture is used by the head and wings.

    .... the Brawl creators were extremely lazy when making Ridley, and only made him four polygons using three textures. >_>

    Nah says he can shrink down the filesize, so let's hope he pulls through. Otherwise, this might go down in flames.

    gama i dont know what you think its the limite since i dont think anyone knows the kirby hat limits like i putted your roy kirby hat over ddd kirby hat wich had 380 kb and after putting roy there the file is 524 kb and works flawlessly  so just an heads up kirby hats dont need to be inferior to the original size Tongue

    4 times thats a diferent story xD hope you can recize him down and i expect the other kirby hats you plan to make dont give these problems at all

    I had considered that, but neither me nor Nah really knows how to mess with UVs. /:

    Deleting the tail got me pretty close to the limit, as it also allowed me to remove the second texture. But I didn't bother testing it.

    I guess it'll be put on hold until BlackJax finishes the tristripper. Then I won't even have to worry about losing quality.

    Thanks anyway, Waffles. :]

    In other news, there should be one more hat on the way in the near future. I just gotta tweak the metals and it should be good.
