Oh wait, before you get out, I figured I'd ask. Would you object to drawing me some concept art for Steampunk Layton? I'd like to take another crack at him at some point and concept art is a great way to get started.
You mean like side and back views? I can try.

Yeah, front side and back, and all in a T-stance would be preferable. And some close ups on areas with more detail would be super cool too.

I've decided to wait until you unwrap the model. Cause I hate flying blind here.

I'm gonna be bluntly honest here and say...I don't like this. Why not just leave them connected? It will take up the same amount of space and save us both a lot of trouble. That's the whole point I want trying to make with leaving them connected. It would make changing the UVs to fit the texture unneeded.

Mmmalright, if you think leaving them connected will be easier, I'll do that. You want me to flatten out the pockets, by the way?

That would help. In fact. On most of the stuff you separated top to bottom, leaving them connected will save us both a lard-ton of trouble in the long run because adjusting the UVs will become less of an issue, because there will be less pieces to adjust.

Weeeell, as the title implies, I'm not down for the count just yet. I've been dealt every blow life could have possibly thrown at me, and I came out smiling.
In short, bills are paid, exams' asses are kicked, taxes have been done, and my computer is now fixed and fully operational. Yaaaaaay.
So I figured I'd get things started by showing the stage I was working on while transferring my files before the format. I've shown it in the Stage Workshop, and if you haven't taken a look at that thread... go. Doit.
k stage timePhase 9Also know as "The Queen's Lair," it's the last area in Metroid II where you face the Queen Metroid. Hence the Queen Metroid in the background. Y'know.
A little personal spiel: this stage means quite a bit to me. At the onset of my stage-hacking "career," one of the first areas I ever tried to replicate was the Queen's Lair. Of course, I knew absoutely nothing back then, so I tried to recreate it using the old block method. Needless to say, it was bad. Awful.
So I scrapped it and made other bad stages.
And then I picked up the idea again with the "Tunnels of SR-388" stage, which was supposed to be a Corneria-like side-scroller with a bunch of fancy stuff in the background. I dropped that too. Mmhmm.
So to see this stage come to fruition is pretty cool I guess. It's not exactly done yet, but I'm very pleased with where it is.
It's a very basic Smashville-like stage with a small "gimmick," if you want to call it that. Kind of like the Platform Ghost in Yoshi's Island. But with Metroids.
Anyway, if you made it this far, thanks for reading. Hugs and kisses.

Wish I knew more about stages. Maybe I could go into more detail. As far as my (rather insignificant) opinion goes, I like the previous preview more. The fog was a bit more outstanding, the lighting a bit more "atmospheric." Right now everything's really bright and clear. It's like, the previous one was more "cave-like" to me.
Still pretty sweet though. Will the Queen be animated?

Aw darnit. I thought it was too foggy, so I toned it down. Heheh. I'll keep toying around with it, lighting's tough.
Yep, she's animated, made a nice long loop by appending animations straight from Other M. Pics don't really do her justice, of course, I'll see if I can get a video up at one point or another. Gotta get Fraps again I guess. Hnnng.
And I don't know if this will mean anything to anyone else but me, but
