I think there should be an award for users that are generally helpful on the various help boards. One that requires nominations like the Constructive award. I see a good few users helping others across the boards with their problems and I think they should be rewarded.

I am not really sure if it's worth it, if it ends up like the Constructive award, which had like 10 nominations, and now is just gathering dust because nobody cares about it anymore. |

Then why not make it a part of the Constructive award instead of making an entirely new award? |

It's not a "no", but more like "Okay, sure, but how?" We obviously can't dedicate someone to browsing the whole of the help boards to check all of the helpful posts. And an automatic script cannot really differenciate between a helpful post, and one requesting for such help. The Warm Welcomer one doesn't make that difference. It just counts the posts made in Introductions in general. So you could technically get it by never welcoming anyone, then introducing yourself 100 times, or spamming the hell out of your own intro thread. Which practically never happens. Though, tbh I'm not sure if the number of people regularly asking for help would skew the results that much. I guess I'll just query a Top 100 of "Most posts in Help forums" and see how many people in there are more helpers than helped ones. If there's enough, we'll make the award.  Ring any bells? |

We can't make a badge appear twice, so ... I'm not sure about a multi-winner version for only like, 2 victories. Could we perhaps wait for a few more of these before doing so? Thing is, if ABC decides to make something like four of these each year, and hand out between 1 and 4 awards each and every time, we would end up with way too many different awards for just one contest. Ring any bells? Oh, right. Sorry, my bad. I completely forgot about thatidea. ^_^' It's not going to be based on nominations, though. Vyse did send me a list of Help forums poster which was pretty accurate for that, so I'll add it to the 2nd OP, and start pestering SJS about the pin... Or, no actually, we've still got a bunch of unused pins to use. TroubleshooterYes/No? |
