In all honestly, not everyone should have the Shadow award.
I think it should only be award to the people who have the highest amount of downloads of Shadow (like, 1,000 or 2,000 and up).

Considering that Shadow hacks get downloads no matter how little effort has been put into them, yes I'm wholly serious. Most of the Shadow hacks are crap, but they get downloads because there's a massive abundance of stupid noobs from places like Youtube that will suck it up no matter how bad it looks. The Shadow hacks that get over 1k downloads, are generally large packs or Shadows that symbolised a decent milestone in Shadow's development (although even then there are a couple that make you think "Why the hell does THIS have over 1k downloads"?). Almost everything else contributes nothing.
Oh, and just to let you know, here's a list of all the Shadow hacks that DO have over 1k downloads:
And this is just over Sonic....Not to mention there's a good few that will achieve at least 1k downloads fairly soon.
To the people that have rightfully EARNED the award, it should be decent. Those who are either trying to cheat the system or are just plain lazy deserve the crap. |

...Then why even have them? I take back what I said about that Shadow Award being a mark of shame... It shouldn't even exist at all. Much like the Haku Awards. Awards should only be just that, proof of something worthy of being rewarded. Not a funny little way to troll people.

You should like it actually. Because it's solving the problem you have with the Shadow award. We didn't know what to do with our old Karma system, simply because we always wanted it to be a way to reward people for doing great things to the boards. However, we never managed to make it really functionnal because of how limited it is. Now, I was thinking about recycling it. A number of forums with an award system have a certain "Value" associated with each award. We could use the Karma count for displaying that "Badge value". That way we could have a way to make more or less important awards, and people would stop complaining about some of the "difficult badges" being less cool than some "easy ones". And for "joke awards" ? Just give them 0 value. Or just 1. Or -1.  And yes, we'd decide the individual values with the users. |

Hm... I don't know... I think I'd like it better if the joke awards were just abolished all together...
Filter out the unneeded data on the board's memory, and make more room for more important awards.
Plus I just don't like the Haku award... It's just... Boring looking. And as I said, unneeded.
