It's kinda crazy that they are getting all these things from other games yet we in the brawl hacking community are still pretty limited from what we can import xD

No more fail on Brres editor on unanimated item =) that was when we used SZS modifier importer. Chadderz did great improvement on Brres editor  (BTW uploading Tutorial)

I'm pretty sure you have to use sketchup and follow a set of exporting rules, like DAE -> MDL0. And the obj converter saves the MLD0 as v11.

I just use 3ds max 2012 design for any of my Mario kart mod and never got any failure. and btw the tutorial is now up : Create a Mario kart wii char (unanimed)it can countain error / typos and i m really sorry but that 3am here and that quite hard for me =)

Gonna try to make a brawl stage with this... Tested on dolphin, works fine. Now for the real deal...
Black screen, not even the characters display. Then, when I try to quit, the game freezes. Oh well.

Probably due to an ressource failure. I mean your brres countain to much faces for mario kart , a map can have 55K face and that load on wii but it should have 20 TEX0 without size highter than "1024",
and for character my max is 3.000 face and 5 TEX0 of 512x512 max highter it doesn't load :x
