I crouched with Sonic over Luigi and he didn't freeze.
I however used Sonic files ripped directly from the disk itself without editing.

Ok, I take a programming class at school and I think there's more at work here than JUST the constructors... Like people have said, the model plays a very important role. So what else do we need to do to make this theory bullet proof?

Way to big I suppose.
Also, Dr. Mario doesn't work over Yellow Alloy, but does work over Luigi.
His specials however, freeze him.
