That's a very common problem and it's caused by the fact that you're using Blender. Seriously.
This has been asked a few times now, and in each circumstance the user was using blender.
So either use Anim8or or 3DSMax. No other options that I know of.

Your problem doesn't happen "all" the time but it's a very common problem. Could you tell me what exactly you were trying to edit?

It's everytime when I edit something. For example Links body or Zeldas dress.

Have you tried skipping the Anim8or step? You know where you import it into Anim8or then export as 3DS from there.

refresh all your files.
replace the model.mdl0 with a new one. run your DDV.3ds edit through animator. the problem i caused by a faulty 3ds import.

I've tried it now but I can't just skip it because blender does nothing when I try to import the DDV.3ds file.

the raw formats pretty easy, I've never wrote in python, but it should be too hard. someone could just write a plugin for blender, and there would be no need to donkeybox all together
