Nice Battlefield. By the way, do you kniw much about editing the shaders... In 3DS Max?

The updated Melee BF is STGDXBATTLEFIELD120.pac, right? or have both files been updated?
Also, once you are done with whatever stage you are working on? do you have plans on other stages? like making new ones/updating them/completing them perhaps?
The updated one is both. The '120' one is a 120% size version for those who, due to the bigger size of the characters in brawl, feel the stage to be too small. That size can be easily changed, so if anybody wants another custom percent, please tell me and I'll include it. About stages, I have always lots of ideas in mind. And quite a lot of unfinished stages, or revamps to do. I'll never finish everything I have in mind, but, at least, this means that you'll never see something like 'this is my last stage cause I have no more ideas in mind'. Nice Battlefield. By the way, do you kniw much about editing the shaders... In 3DS Max?
The shaders? You mean the normals? I know enough about normal and color editing. I don't guess much more is needed O.o The real trouble comes with brawlbox, not 3dsmax. It's there where you need to get the good shaders and stuff. Making those transparent parts in the stage wasn't that easy. In order to keep the pink lines bright enough while being under the floor and in the same model, I've needed to enable it in some way that pokemon trainer doesn't like. Why the question? O.o

Because 3DS Max renders many shader effects in its material files, I know that the shaders aren't the same but I thought that some of it should transfer over rather than doing a Brawlbox edit every time you import.

Wait, so it is possible to import the backgrounds from Melee stages? (Looking at the FD import from a few pages back) That is the real background and not an imitation, right?
The background was actually the main reason that I disliked the FD vertex stage from a long time ago (the one that's in the Project M demo). I've always found the Brawl FD background extremely ugly (which is why I always used FD textures with replaced backgrounds), even with the Melee imitation textures. I downloaded the version with Tabuu's background, but that was too distracting and didn't match the way that I expected the stage to look. Getting the real background would be a huge improvement to the stage, plus it would help the authenticity of Project M if it gets included.
I don't care so much about Melee BF (I didn't like the background in Melee either), so I don't care if that one doesn't get fixed.

It is. Oshtoby should get me several captures of the stage so I can try to make something similar to the original thing though, and would be a lot of data to process. But, I guess the stage requires that much attention.

It is unfortunate that there is no easy way to obtain model captures of those background elements. I mean, you could use the frame advance feature during SSBM's debug mode to pinpoint the exact frame you want captured. But a background element wouldn't be perfectly captured unless every frame of that element was also captured... If only you were trying to port a background that isn't so animated, then it would be much simpler.

Yeah, you're right. Still, the background is somehow divided in temporal moments (the space, the green tunnel thing, the transition to the sky, and the sky, for example), and having only 4-5 models may do it. Of course, there are several model and texture animations, and I will never be able to make it perfect. But, I'll do my best. I'll use videos like this as a base:

(Redpwnage, do not start!) I mean, you made FD64 with Brawl's BG, so seeing it with Melee's BG would be kind of awesome. Also, for people who want a Wifi safe version, you could replace the platform with Brawl's as well.

Sure, that was already in my mind xD
I mean, if I recreate decently that epic background, I'm gonna use it in more than just one stage xD

Mewtwo you never cease to amaze us. It was because of you I started making stages. You're a huge inspiration to us, and I always have confidence in your abilities. And I'm always looking forward to your works of art

Hey, temple of time will finally be completed. How about that. It's been in the works for like a year.

Actaully, good idea. FD64 With Melee's BG would be cool! i wonder which version of fd's music would make it sound best on? Anyways, Now this gets me thinking of FD64/Master Hand's Residence's BG. (Again... ) Well with the space bg, the fog. and the vortex (and possibly a looping BG) i guess it shouldn't be a problem. After all, it IS N64, right? By the way, I think this would use about 3(or more due to the shooting stars in the first bg) models to pull off, But hey, if stages like temple of time are gonna get completed, I'm crossing my fingers and hope FD64/Master Hand's Residence is also gonna be one of stages in the line of getting completed. (In case you didn't know, the true name of FD64 was called Master Hand's Residence acording to smash wiki) EDIT: Is there a video showing how FD64's Background goes? the video of melee's bg intersted me.

I haaaad to mention FD64! I couldn't send Mewtwo2000 a pm, I had to get crazy reddpwnage795 started! :fp: Yes, I nicknamed you after a shady businessman from Animal Crossing. But seriously, I want to see FD64 (or Master Hand's Residence) with an improved bg almost as much as you do, but I'd much rather see those Banjo-Kazooie stages and Temple of Time, as well as Mewtwo's Stadium.
Speaking of which... Mewtwo, how is that sexy Stadium coming along?
