Sounds fun. I would play that. Subscribed.

I see the idea here taking shape. Let me introduce a separate but related idea:

As a general 'downloader' (and not necessarily a mass hack creator) would it be helpful to create a "Favorites" list that you can compile and share with others? I often come back into the Vault, hunting for that one hack I can't exactly remember. If I had a list of hacks that I had marked as my "favorite", perhaps scrolling through my list of favorites would be convenient.

Anyone else have an opinion on the matter?

in my option kc-mm has been less active then from about 1-2 year since

And that's why it's your opinion. We have solid ratings that display our traffic as being 35% higher at all times compared to a year ago, and 55% higher than two years ago. Heck, there's 133 people online while I type this. That's impressive.

In any case, I may not continue hacking myself (I make something once a year as it is. lol), HOWEVER, I suspect there will be a large group of us attempting to turn Brawl into SSB4.

Can you imagine how much fun it would be to attempt to change everyone's new moves into the Wii U version's movesets? Implementing MegaMan with the same moves? Animal Crossing guy?

What's going to be hilarious (and a proud moment) is when we finally have a full roster knowledge of Wii U Smash characters next year... and we'll all throw our arms in the air and go "well, we obviously know Nintendo HQ is a frequent visitor to KC-MM, because every frigg'n new character they implemented we already have in the Vault."

I agree with others though; it would be incredible to get our hands on a copy, find out if they use the same encryption, filetype, etc -- and just RIP the characters straight into Brawl. Then we could officially justify not owning a Wii U. Haha

The direct link is "http://205.196.121.54/lhp16nnchr8g/m1nkgb2z5623isu/Amy+V2+of+V1.rar" and when searching for the initial 205.196.121.54 on "http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/" it notes that it is NOT just me, and that it is down.

EDIT: I ended up clicking "send to my account" and after a few tries, it let me send it to my own account, at which point I could download it. Crazy.

The Download for Amy V2 of V1 currently results in an error (Chrome, Firefox, IE). Must be server hosting related? Care to re-up?

Can I get some proper credit for the official Brawlbox Icon design? I've had that icon sitting in the resources page since BrawlVault's inception.

Bravo has been reported in brawlvault. Care to weigh in on the issues being reported?

Well, typically before you save your gct file, you should make it a practice to save as a txt file first. That way you can easily import it back into the program to make changes instead of having to edit the GCT (buggy as heck).

Doing it that way, you can narrow it down to whatever cheat it is that is causing the problem. Add 5 or 6 huge codes, test. If it doesn't freeze, then go ahead and add more. If it does, then you've only got 5 or 6 to test as you remove them one by one.

It's tedious, yes - but an organized txt code bank is crucial to avoid freezes.

@Vyse: Have you looked into team twiizers? They made the HBC in the first place. Not to mention a lot of the apps on the HBB. I'm not sure if you'll be able to collaborate w/ them, but if you guys managed to get help from the main Homebrew team, then you'd be ahead of the game! ;D

I'm going to see if I can contact them.

It was an expected issue, and has been resolved as of yesterday.

I recall being able to use B> and then B^ at one point with a code.  Anyone have this gecko code?

PS: Its not this one:
+$No special fall after glide attack or end [standardtoaster]
04FB31E0 0000000F
04FB3240 0000000F

That one mods gliding with wings, like on pit and charizard.

Help!

In all honesty. This idea seems pointless.

Especially if you all are going to need to do such drastic changes to the server... And, just how much would hosting all those files cost a month? And all so that a Homebrew app which many people might not even use works?

I'm rather against this.

Excellent opinion, to which I'd love to answer your concerns about:

We're always investigating ways to make it so changes (especially to the server) are minimal. We already have unlimited everything as far as bandwidth and host space goes, and to keep it that way we'll likely throw a small ad on the Vault. Nothing obtrusive. The potential it has to bring those Brawlers that aren't as savvy to the table makes us excited.

I don't see how you'd code it so that you can download from any link right into your SD (And if the DL link is in a .rar and whatnot) unless you're hosting it all yourselves.

Good question. We brought that up in our discussion, and currently it would be solved by any of the following (sorted from easiest to implement, to most difficult):

1)  Host Every Hack Ourselves
2)  *Re-upload said hack as .pcs instead of a .rar or .zip file
3)  Implement an extraction tool into the brawlbrew app.

* This however, doesn't solve multi-file necessities. Characters that require double-file downloads (pcs and pac for transforming characters like zelda, wario, etc) would have to have two separate download links for the pac and pcs. This would be a repair to be implemented on the vault side of things though.

Assuming that this will have support for both Riivo and Gecko, I'm all for it.

I'm unfamiliar with the functionality behind Riivo, but to my knowledge, isn't it essencially "chuck everything into the root folder instead of specific folder hierarchies"? If it's merely folder location placement that's different between normal File Patch Code replacement and Riivo, I'm sure there could be future implementation of "click here for Riivo," and "click here for File Patch Code method" (as well as, "click here if you have know idea what either of these mean").

[List of Basic Functionality]

Community of Wonderful Brawlers,

We've been toying with the idea of developing a Homebrew App for BrawlVault, designed to let you browse and preview what's available, and then download it directly to your SD card.

But, of course, before we pull a Homebrew team together, we have to ask: "Would you use it?"   --   If you would, feel free to suggest some ideas for it.

If there's a demand, we'll throw a team of geniuses together.

Keep in mind that this is still in the very early conceptual stages. We have no idea how capable the Wii is of doing the things we want to do. Our plan is to start ambitious and strike features if they end up impossible.

- After choosing brstm placement, offer option to change music title
- Accept user text input for title and inject into info.pac and mu_menumain.pac

Just give it time.

There is nothing for us to fix. The DNS is configured correctly.

Yep. It's a time-sensitive issue.
