Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: SDo0m's Dark Void: I hope you like EXPLOSIVE previews!

That's not a fight you'll win against these guys, SDo0m. lol I like how the Temple looks, but that's about it. I don't see what's so fun about camping and running away, which are things that stages like this one are good for. And I don't see what's so fun about playing on a billion flat stages with different backgrounds. I also don't really see the problem with matches taking a bit longer. But maybe it's cause I'm not under the mindset of GOTTA GO FAST SONIC X. I'd rather have fun bouncing people around, or getting bounced around, for a few minutes than play on the same flat surface. But hey, to each their own, I guess.

Nope, its actually at the tip of the sword, it has low knockback growth on the other area's of the sword. I was gonna edit the damage it does but his other smash attacks have very low kill power, so you might wanna think about that more. Moreover, you can always dodge his forward smash since its the one of few real kill moves Tidus currently has. In that case, you might want to just adjust the killing power of his other smashes. Giving him a move that deals about as much knockback as a Dragoon is pretty silly.

Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Vertexing pieces with Bones

Up to patch 41 now, and it's gotten better randomly. Sometimes one side will be fine, and other times the other side will be fine. One side is always messed up, though.
Is there anyone out there better experienced with vertexing who could take a look at it? Nothing I've done seems to work.

It gets even more messed up after double patching. Here's a picture of what it's supposed to look like, and a picture of what it does in brawlbox. The color of it is grey in the first picture, and blue in the second picture. I tested it with a simple edit of the scarf with just a few vertex edits, and it ended up doing the same thing.

Help & Tutorials / Help / Vertexing pieces with Bones

I've recently begun vertexing Pit, and I've attempted to make his scarves into a vest. However, after saving and patching everything in 3dsmax, his scarf is all jumbled up. Is there any way to edit his scarf in such a manner, or am I out of luck?
(I shifted the scarf locations from their points of origin.)
Also, would this happen to all pieces with bones? Just want to know before I end up finding out I've wasted my time making a vertex edit with uneditable things.

Help & Tutorials / Help / Quick question about texturing vertex edits
|
on: June 23, 2011, 06:56:22 AM
|
I looked around and I couldn't find any info about it, or maybe I saw it and just didn't realize it.
I'm working on my first vertex edit, and I'd like to be able to make textures for it. Problem is, when i edit the textures on the little blob of texturism, they come out all warped because of the vertex points being moved around.
Is there some kind of program that lets you texture a character model in 3-d, or is there a better way to edit vertexed characters other than sheer guesswork on the little texture blobs?
There's gotta be an easier way that I'm missing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would switch the forward-air and the down-air attacks, the forward air brings him downwards at an angle while the down-air makes him point his drill forward.
The Max Shining Laser final smash looks pretty awesome though, I randomly get it instead of the ROB final, but then ROB's kicks in after the initial blast. The only thing is if you could get it to do a single laser stream instead of the bursts, would make it look a bit better. Still looks sweet though.
For a beta, this is pretty amazing.
Neutral B is kinda too powerful though.
Also, 4 jumps is kind of pushing it, since his Up-B is already practically Pit flight.

Honestly, I'd add in some Z-buster attacks in the form of moderately ranged melee attacks. Think along the lines of how falco uses his gun in his throws, or how Samus uses her blaster for a few of her melee attacks. I wouldn't go crazy with trying to make a different move for each attack, if you don't stick mainly with his Z-saber/buster, it's just not going to feel like Zero.
I have to say though, that model for zero I saw in the community pack is pretty impressive looking. Nice work on that.
