BJ. I've been wondering. Is it possible to export BRSTM's from multi-channel BRSTM's?
Say I have a 4-channel BRSTM, and I wanna export Stream 2. Would that be possible?

    Well sure I guess.

And stahp asking if stuff is "possible" (not just you; everyone), because then the answer is basically always yes unless the request is incredibly insane.
Just ask if I am willing to do something instead.

just export the channels as a .wav file.. import the wave file and copy the loop start point.  thats what i do.

altho, speaking about brstm's... y do brstm's with more channels have some kind of static sound to it?

Like, a static click thing in fixed intervals?
I dunno. I was wondering about that. Sounds like a problem with the block states.

Just know that I tried rendering a GIF of a ~200 frame animation at full screen in HQ and it took maybe around 25 to 30 minutes. Tongue
You underestimate me. I'm plenty patient enough for that.

However, that certainly wouldn't be a very web-friendly GIF. It is nice to know the limits, though.

goooood *generic response to how-was questions*
Okay then. How about: What rides did you try, if any? What piqued your interest the most?

And: Did you get to meet your favorite Disney character and take a picture with them?

Hah well I don't want to sound spoiled but I've gone to Disneyland so many times (I only live six hours away) that I know each and every ride like the back of my hands' fingers' backs backs fingernails, so none of them are too intriguing anymore.

Also, I went with a bunch of lame people: my parents and my dad's hearing assistance dog which he doesn't really need but restricts their time in the park, my cousin/brother-from-another-mother who dislikes rides but will unwillingly ride them (except for California Screamin, which he refuses to ride because of the loop but is MY FAVORITE RIDE), my sister, who will ride anything except Tower of Terror (which is ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITE RIDES) but spent all of her time with her fiance who dislikes rides just as much as my cousin, and some dude who they live with who programs like me but also doesn't like rides very much.

I only rode California Screamin once with my sister and DIDN'T RIDE TOWER OF TERROR AT ALL, which is BULLSHAKA. Didn't ride the Matterhorn bob-beanz either, but that's fine I guess. My cousin and I mostly rode Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Beanz, and the Haunted Mansion.

I also wanted to see Merida in Fantasyland
if you know what I mean
BUT MY COUSIN WAS TOO LAME TO GO WITH ME SO I NEVER GOT AROUND TO IT. Im srs here

i ALSO wanted to ride SPLASH MOUNTAIN CUZ IT WAS [censored]ING BURNING HOT WAITING IN LINE FOR DOLE-WHIP, but my cousin was too lame to ride that either. He's always been a wimp, but nowadays he's a jock wimp, which is hilarious and annoying at the same time.

Oh and we rode the [censored]-Bear ride just to see the 3 heads from Country Bear Jamboree creepily hung up on the back wall above the ride, which was pretty rewarding.

that's about it, we also bought taffee from a hot chick named Alexis

Sounds like a fairly mediocre time for a trip to Disneyland. First-world problems at work!

Last time I was at Disneyland, I was too young to remember it properly. So I've never really been able to experience all that. Sounds like a place I would have fun at, though. Maybe someday.

And see, people? This is how you learn how someone's day went. Non-generic questions.

30 minutes to render a 200 frame animation into a gif?
    Youre doing something wrong there.

    30 min = 1800 seconds / 200 frames = 9 seconds per frame.
Seriously, what is the bottleneck there.

You also forgot that I said full screen at best quality. The image dimensions were approx. 1100x900. I'm using the NGif library to encode gifs, and it was technically working in v0.68 but it took so long to encode I thought I was doing something wrong and disabled it.

Using smaller dimensions for the image greatly speeds up the encoding.

Turns out the class it uses to quantize the frames using the NeuQuant algorithm likes to take its time. I'm not sure if I can speed it up. I also tried using AnimatedGifEncoder in .NET 4.5, and it was a little bit faster, but it didn't have customizable delay, quality, repeat count, etc.

If you'd like to look into speeding up the encoding somehow, that'd be great. I'll commit the current source later today.

Better make sure that [censored] compiles beforehand

Also, just popping in to say there are still some bugs with SCN0 editing. I did a bunch of editing and junk yesterday and when I went to save it crashed, so I don't know what's up with that. Pretty sure it has to do with editing light sets like I'd mentioned before, but I didn't really do extensive testing on it as I was so frustrated that my laptop almost went out the window, sooo.

    9 seconds per frame...
    geeze

BJ, do you know if the library does any gif optimization??
are you able to do geometry pre-passes before rendering to gif??

I'm sure doing something with those would at the very least cut the render time in half.

using advanced GL might also help >_>
don't quote me on that though as it may also have no effect.
though it'll have quite the effect when previewing an animation... Tongue

you should probably look into some of Blender's srcs as well :/
for example, you can render an AVI through blender's yaf-ray renderer...
you may be able to implament the renderer in brbx >_>

you have been through a lot of hassle. I've watched every topic you posted on this, and most of them seemed to disintegrate gradually.
But the coolest part was that you didn't stop working on it despite that.

I am faced with a really annoying bug, and would like to know if there is a solution.

If I open any .pac file (say Marth) in brawlbox, go to MoveDef_FitMarth > Sections > data >
then click on his...counter. Change the minimum damage from 8 to 9. Save the file, and now no matter what I can't open it again in PSA. Using both the latest versions of BrawlBox and PSA. Any help would be nice!
