I just spend the last 2 hours gathering screenshots from all my stages, converting them on my computer to pictures, adjusting every single one of them to the appropriate size for the preview, and then the appropriate size for the icons, put borders on all my icons so it looks nice, and finally put all the files onto my sc_selmap. Turn on my Wii U, started up the game and started a game, only to be greeted by the horrible sound of Failure, and it freezing before the stage select even came up. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I DID WRONG. Someone PLEASE help...

I have that same issue too when I make my own SSS, but when I use someone else's SSS, it doesn't freeze.

You're going over the filesize limit. Simply put, your common file is too big.
Check the file size of what you're replacing, and lower the quality of your images so they're either at or below that file size.
