When we distribute the files, it could technically be considered illegal because we are distributing copyrighted material. Nintendo, however, seems to not care, mainly because they care more about pirating and no one can create the entirety of Brawl from the files we distribute (they'd still be missing a great deal of files that people haven't edited/have no point in editing). Selling these files, however, is very illegal and I'm sure Nintendo would hop right on it and file a lawsuit as soon as they heard about such a thing, and they'd probably shut down the entire Brawl Hacking community because of it.
And modding games is legal as far as we're concerned, but Nintendo could find some way to make it "illegal" if they felt modding games was a big enough problem.
Ew GCT Edit no. It's horribly buggy, and if you try to go from .gct to .txt and back to .gct with the current Brawl+ codelist it will screw up because it doesn't recognize certain codes. It puts them under a certain category called "Unknown Codes" or something, and when you turn it back into a .gct it screws up.
I know this wasn't exactly the answer you wanted to hear, but modding charater size through brawlbox is more hard and tedious than just editing the t-square. First, what you need to do is aquire a motion.pac for whoever you're modding. Next, you need to open the right pannel and open the motion.pac Lastly, you need to edit each and every motion file.
*note, you have to edit all 3 dimensions, because if you edit 1, the other 2 automatically change size to compensate.
watch the tutorial, downlod the stuff and put it through the ocerina cheat manager into the codes folder. Make sure it's named rsbe01 when you put it on your SD card. Hope this helps!
Not only does this have nothing to do with this thread, but if you still edit animations through just the MotionEtc file and not through previewing the characters model and then loading up the MotionEtc in the previewer you haven't caught up with what the newest BrawlBox versions can do. If you edit it in the previewer it doesn't mess with the other two scales (it shouldn't in the regular editor, too, so you must be doing something wrong).
But it doesn't doesn't pick a character whether or not a certain CSS is loaded or not, so that's you're problem. You should really read his entire post to see how it works, you're getting the wrong idea.
Or do you mean something else? I have a feeling I'm getting the wrong idea from your post and that you explained it wrong.
Well, replacing just the announcers would be hard, but you can replace the entire sound effects file with the Japanese one using Riivolution (FPC doesn't patch the SFX file).
And asking in someone else's thread will get you help easier? You're less likely to get help when you just barge in and someone hasn't had their question answered (okay, they sorta have, but it wasn't that helpful really), just ask in your own thread and stop acting more important >.>
If you can, try to get access to a Windows computer and format it with that to FAT32, and if it still doesn't work then try FAT (aka FAT16).
Also, whatever you read on the internet lied, you don't need to reformat to get your space back. Just deleting what you don't want deletes it and you space is recovered on your SD card. Reformatting just instantly deletes everything and changes the storage format to a different one/just instantly deletes everything if you reformat it back to the same format.
They work perfectly fine as long as they aren't SDHC, I've used them before.
Anyways, it could be a bad PSA or stage hack if it is freezing on the SSS. What characters do you try to select/what stage do you try to select when it freezes, and what hacks do you have on them (if any)?
