Surprise update! First, we've got Falco joining Fox with new threads, as well as enough costume slots to fill up the Melee Falco slots. Falco Stuff
Next, Ganondorf has recieved 3 additional costumes to go over Melee Ganondorf's when 3.5 rolls around. No point keeping them to ourselves when they're done though, right? Let's see if you guys can guess what the new green is based off of? Ganondorf Costumes
And finally, the unexpected update?! We've updated the HUD with elements borrowed from Smash 3DS, as well as a few new things to fit in with all the new stuff. Because we had a lot of requests for a centered timer, it now comes in a variety of flavours! You'll be able to choose between Gradient and Non Gradient numbers, as well as the Regular or Project M centered timer (for both vBrawl and P:M versions).
Now that we've polished it up, how would you guys feel if we added it as stock in the pack?
I know about it... and I have no idea how to use it... Downloaded a version of PM with it pre-installed and it gives everyone extra slots but I don't need all the extras... and the limit is 10 right? Sonic has 14 alts with Smash 3... also the pre-installed one crashed a lot.
Mewtwo made a tool to help customize cBliss to work the way you want it.
The reason Sonic has 14 is because he is the last character, If, say Mario was to have 14 costumes, It would overlap onto Donkey Kong.
The costumes aren't all meant to be used at once. The Brawl set (aka blue tinted Sonics) are meant for people who want the Sonics to match with their spin trails more, while the coloured costumes are meant for people who prefer those. There are 14 so you can mix and match, like if you like Shadow Sonic a lot for example. Sonic's costume limit is 10 as far as I know.
Alright, since the eye issue randomly happens it's kinda hard to pin exactly what's causing it, but we've issued a small fix in both the individual and pack downloads for Sonic. Download it and let us know if the issues persist.
Huh, weird it really should still have it. There are still issues with Sonic so it shouldn't be gone. Probably forgot it when the chart was updated.
You joker you.
Another update today guys! Is that...Sonic? Impossible!

And of course, we did the Final Smashes for Sonic and Wario as well: Final Smash Renders
Sonic gets a total of 14 recolors, to make up for the wait. Brawl users can use cBliss to expand their slots and add all 8 Brawl Style Sonics, while Project M users get their Shadow and Silver costumes early as well as an Espio costume and...Boom Sonic?! Boom Sonic and Silver will replace the Silver and Tails costume slots in Project M 3.5, but for the time being, you guys can grab them in the indivudal download and replace whichever slots you like. And finally, as we're nearing our 1-year anniversary, this comparison had to be made:
Downloaded the latest update of "The Pack", Brawl version. common5.pac seems to make the game freeze when trying to access the Character Selection Screen. Worked fine when I deleted it. Guessing it's a filesize problem, would be cool if you guys looked into it.
Thanks for letting us know. I checked it out just now, the filesize was massive. Looks like we're going to have to start using CMPR...
Fixed though, you should be able to just grab the common5.pac as a patch.
Lucas? Finally! I've been dying to get my hands on him. My old Mother 3 version of him was pretty poor, but now I can touch it up properly!
I've got a question about Ness though; did you guys simply modify the colors, or did you also improve the texture of the images? I'm asking because I was just about to release my updated Earthbound recolor. If you've improved texture as well as color, I'd like to start all over again.
Agreed with all the positive comments here. I hope to improve these in the future by way of "true Lucas" alts, themed recolors (aka normal green recolor, mars red, etc.), but even so, these look even better than I expected.
Well done and good work. Can't wait to see more.
Also, question while I'm thinking of it: Will the Pokemon trainer Pokemon, Olimar, Wolf, Sonic, etc, be released with a Project M friendly version, as in their recolors match the reworked Project M colors?
Sonic already has more team-riendly colours, Olimar has the Project M ones, Wolf will get whatever we can think of, and the Pokemon...we'll see. We're going to try to keep them consistent between the Pokemon (all colours will match) but our plans change often.
Phew, 3-character update today. Updates to two older characters, and...?! Also, we're trying out a slightly different format from now on. Additional costumes will now be included in the main download of a character, but you'll be able to preview them all under the download! The Preview button will also open the character's gallery, where you can view the renders, wallpapers, and recolours as well as the usual ingame screens. Let us know what you think!

Hope you guys like Fox! Note that the four at the end will replace the Project M Melee costume, however, we've kept teams in mind here and put the colours in slots where they'll fit team battles well!
As of now, here's our gameplan with your guys' comments taken into consideration:
Characters who are not released as of yet will get priority over simple updates. This does not include Sonic, Bowser, or Ike, their updates will proceed normally. Any characters after that will get their updates released when they're finished, if we feel like finishing them. At the moment these include characters like Marth, Fox, and Falco. They are slight though, so don't expect drastic changes.
For Project M users, you guys will get extra recolours instead of costumes for more consistency. The extra costumes won't be team-friendly, however (some of Project M's costumes have team colouring). This can be fixed with cBliss, but we don't want to mess with the P:M codeset to avoid any issues. In Ike's case, he will get his current costume as his alternate, while his new model takes his main set. We will release an additional DLC pack for those who want the extra recolours as well. We were planning on adding Awakening Marth as Marth's costume, but after looking around, it seems Shun has lost the PSDs, so Awakning Marth will most likely not happen.
Seeing as there are people willing to try texturing the P:M alts themselves though, we'll upload our assets (where permission permits, some people might not want their stuff shared). Keep in mind that these will be released as-is, so some files may be messier and harder to navigate than others. I'll also create a tutorial for texturing in the Smash 3 style using the same techniques we've been using.
Thanks for understanding guys, this is why we love you all.
Hey guys, I have a sudden announcement to make regarding the Project M Alternate Costumes.
As you all know, Smash 4 is coming. You all probably know we're fuelled by our motivations, so I hope you can understand that at this point with the game just 4 days away, our motivation is dwindling right now. I've had the opportunity to play the demo, and I can say that this game is just too good. So good, in fact, that I can't see myself returning to older Smash titles. The same is true for the rest of the team, we just can't see ourselves having the motivation to finish the alt costumes now that the game is so close.
In addition, our team is not as large as you guys might imagine. At this point in time, we only have 2-3 active texturers, and two active modellers. Shun was already planning to leave Brawl modding when October 3rd hit, making us feel like we had a deadline to hit already. As you might imagine, retexturing Brawl is already a huge task in itself, so doing the alt costumes would just take too much time on top of the remaining cast we have to finish.
Here's where you guys' opinions are important to us, as we have two options: 1) Replace the alt costumes with recolours which are MUCH less time-consuming to do, and you guys would get a "completed" build much faster. 2) Don't do the alt costumes or replace them at all, leaving the cool stuff the PMBR does, but an overall inconsistent build.
Again, I hope you all understand. Thanks for sticking with us all this time, it's been great seeing all the feedback we've gotten from our users. But in the end, we just want to play games too.
