Kind of want to start making mods for this again

    Oh man I am so hyped right now it's not funny.
    HAHAHAHAHA yeah ok
    Anyway, just working on updating Kit's model to use better rigging, proper Final Smash eye textures, and I'm gonna try the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom shader with her model, to see how it works. (Anything's better than the default shader, bleh.)
    Sounds super sexy. One question, are you going to make seperate polys for all the facial expressions too?

    Yes. It's the difference between having a dull, flat shader (which I'm certain a lot of newbies won't bother changing, which could cause problems), and having one that's behaves by Brawl's standards (proper lighting, proper smash charge flashes (I think?), etc.).

    Speaking of charge flashes, Nel flashes black when she's hit with the new shader/settings. I think it has to do with the XF flags, because their the same as another material on another import that also flashes. I tried changing the material shadertype, and now Nel is freezing as soon as I pick her. Im srs here

    That reminds me of some of the older "imports" that I worked with. Back when I was brand new in Animating, I was working with Naruto and his dodges and what not also made him flash black.

    So then the shaders must have a certain combination to work properly. While not completely necessary, I'll be figuring it out later so that other shaders can be adapted.

    But yeah, the materials and shaders cannot conflict and will need to use the same type, or else the Wii will freeze. That, I've encountered several times.

    Haven't tested it yet. Last material setting change I tried, Nel flashed randomly all the time, and if you paused then she'd look fine until you hid the controls. She would turn black and then back to normal when you unhid the controls. XD

    I'll see what it does now

    Oh boy. It happens to me a lot. I was wondering why one of my textures was freezing the Wii, and it was because the PAC file got compressed, not the PCS one.

    i had that very same issue with some Okami models... they appear fine when paused, but not during gameplay or paused with controls hidden.

    BJ, might not be the same as when I imported Ichigo, but I would assume it is as the models are from the same game, but if nel's materials still have _env_map_tex_dummy as one of it's textures, that might be the problem. I fixed it by making all the textures CMPR, changing the _env_map_tex_dummy thing, and replacing his shaders with one of the shaders of a brawl character that controlled a part of the main body. One of the shaders properties was lambert. All the materials were also set to lambert.
