better? Getting there, just keep moving the verticies about until you have a proper spherical shape.

lol someones ability to model isnt based on whether or not u can move the vertices and crap around its really dependent on your ability to draw and well knowing how to properly model somthing properly. when modeling characters and organic shapes ull want to model using planes and extruding the edges until u have the right shape. this why youll need to know how to draw because youll need to know perspective, porportion, and anatomy. starting off with characters isnt probably the best way to learn how to model as u might want to start off with simple objects and things of that nature(and not use 3dsmax) but this is a brawl mod so i guess it dosent really matter but if u really wanna model somthing i suggest maya since theres less crap ud have to work with(modifiers etc.) i see alot of people here model using cubes and spheres(i used to do the same) which leads to some weird looking stufff but extruding planes is the way to go. plus ur file size wont be huge if u do it that way.
also models will never look like a drawing thats just a fact. it can resemble it but itll never look exact

yes i know, I've used blender ever since 2.47 lol someones ability to model isnt based on whether or not u can move the vertices and crap around its really dependent on your ability to draw and well knowing how to properly model somthing properly. when modeling characters and organic shapes ull want to model using planes and extruding the edges until u have the right shape. this why youll need to know how to draw because youll need to know perspective, porportion, and anatomy. starting off with characters isnt probably the best way to learn how to model as u might want to start off with simple objects and things of that nature(and not use 3dsmax) but this is a brawl mod so i guess it dosent really matter but if u really wanna model somthing i suggest maya since theres less crap ud have to work with(modifiers etc.) i see alot of people here model using cubes and spheres(i used to do the same) which leads to some weird looking stufff but extruding planes is the way to go. plus ur file size wont be huge if u do it that way.

well, so far all of Megaman's parts has started with cubes well, this is the best i can do, unless i START with a sphere. (the bottom of the helmet doesn't matter, it will be covered up by his head anyways.) also:

y'know I honestly think that anime characters lose their charm in 3D because they're meant to be in a limited shaded 2D world. The same goes for a lot of cartoon characters. The Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi games come the clsest to getting the models looking right, honestly.
Or the short version is that an anime character is always going to stick out like a sore thumb in Brawl.
im so lucky that touho isnt an anime

Except a lot of your model's textures are washed out and too damn bright.

I will not give an answer on the grounds that it would be a nasty one.

Well most of my custom models revolve around the limits of SM64 hacking, so I'm used to using Google Sketchup to draw stuff, but I did think about making a few M&L models, like make a better Popple to top off my edited Mario model, which I think is still a pretty sweet edit out of a Brawl model without using custom shapes, or attempt to make Elder Princess Shroob over Donkey Kong, so I might look into Maya. I tried blender but I can't figure that thing out for the life of me. xD

I make YouTube videos, SM64 hacks, Brawl Hacks (obviously), NSMBW hacks, and GoldenEye 007 Mods. I also have a short attention span and tend to switch around a lot and put things on hold. But when I do finish things, 95% of the time I gave 120% effort, the other 5% of the time I give 100% effort.

The Superstar Saga Luigi is a little taller, skinnier, and has shorter pants. As compared to normal Luigi. Yes, I'm a nerd. Deal with it.
