I've finally decided to open a thread in here, to keep an order in the forums and advertise my stuffs  :af2:

I'll keep updating my stage thread with the imports anyway, cause it's my main thread. The difference will be the titles, the stage thread will have stage related titles, while this one will have imports info. Character updates will go here, and I'll post a link to this thread each time there's something to see in here that's not there, which won't be very often. Just to make sure people watches this while surfing in the imports area.

Looking over your future plans for imports, it's definitely an impressive line-up. SM64 Mario is one I'll definitely keep my eyes open for, as well as pretty much all the Zelda characters. btw, Mewtwo, do you plan on importing Navi's model as well. If not, that's fine. I can just put my N64 Navi in there. It's not perfect. I just made it in anticipation of your N64 Link.

Yes, of course, that's the main reason to have imported him xD

But as I'm gonna be a little out of time soon, I may release a beta of the stage without Phantom Ganon fooling around, to release the final thing in a future.

By the way, something I guess people do not care about, and should. When a character is too different to the original one, the shadow will probably not fit. A capeless Ganondorf shouldn't have a cape in his shadow. That's what this picture shows.

Small details like that, are very important.

That's what shows a good hack, and the time and effort that was put in this.

Maybe it doesn't show much effort in just removing Ganondorf's cape, but it sure as hell shows it on your Peach's Castle from Super Mario 64.

You can import models, in other words, shapes, polygons, texture coordinates, normals...

But you cannot import a reflective effect. If it would have been possible to give a model that very effect, somebody would have done that with a model, not necessarily an imported one.

We're still far away from a reflective water I guess.

Small details like that, are very important.

That's what shows a good hack, and the time and effort that was put in this.

Maybe it doesn't show much effort in just removing Ganondorf's cape, but it sure as hell shows it on your Peach's Castle from Super Mario 64.

Every single detail counts. If something can be done, why not to do it? That's the way I think hacks should always be.

It's an interesting idea, I could include them with a cull material by default or something. Still, I don't see how to do it, it should have a hidding bone as the visibility one. There should be an extra bone in the model, which is always hidden by the psa or something.

About wind waker imports... It would fit my conditions of 'I do stages from games I've played', but I'm lacking the ability to rip models from GC/Wii games. Maybe when my girl gets her new computer (I guess that's tomorrow) I can give it a try so I can expand my importing/recreating possibilities.

About the shadow, I tried doing what you said, but it froze. It was just a quick test, so the skeleton was probably not what it was supposed to be and such.

What I did was extracting Ganon's shadow model, which worked flawlessly, and vertex-edited him a little. I removed the cape polygons and deformed his head just a little to have horns. Just to test. It worked, and was good enough for me. I just wanted it to have no cape and show some kind of horn, so I don't mind if it doesn't look as it should. Still, I'll try to make a more fitting shadow in the future.

What about if you want to make a trophy, though? Could you just capture a character in a pose, and put him on top of a trophy stand? The reason why I ask this is because all of BrawlVault's trophies are recolors, even my animated trophy, and if it is possible to rig models over a trophy in any pose, then we can have more trophies of character hacks, such as Goku, Viewtiful Joe, or an N64 Link trophy (please?).

Oh, I forgot, as seen in the pictures, he'll fly over the ground. It's something about his shape, I did prefer not to deform him, and the best way to rig him like this was leaving him floating. It fits with him anyway >.<

Hey Mewtwo2000 I beleive this is a way to get SM64 Mario to have all of his hands wihtout a PSA, make a LHand2N, RHand2N, and a LHand3N bone (Thats the easierest name I could think of that would seem self-explanitory, doesn't have to be those names), and make the polygons be attached to the right bones, and make those bones' scales 0, 0, 0. Now in a one-slot motion, make the HandN bones like there are originally, then at the freame before where the other hand polygon should be, make the normal hands' scale key frames, and make it so the other frames are still like they were, then on the wanted frame, make those bones' scale 0, 0, 0, and change the wanted polygons the same size as the original hands original scale. In short make it so the hand disappears in one frame and the other hands appear in one frame. Thats for a one-slot mode. Now for the import please import the wing cap wings, and make a copy of the pac file with one with Fludd, and the other have his Wing Cap. Right now I'm experempting with Brawlbox v65b Beta, and I've made extra eye polygons for Camonsters, so Mario has Yellow and Damage eyes, but I'm having texture problems, Yellow Eyes are Button textures, and the Damage Eye texture doesn't have any skin around the eyes, its just white around the eyes. :>.>palm:

The problem with creating new bones and attaching them to the hands is just the order of everything. I'm sure a bone has to be the x-bone in the structure in order to get everything to be okay, like the shield, for example. Changing the extructure changes which bone is considered the shield, or even the ones to get items or characters. I'll try whatever is possible.

I'll include wings, but I was thinking to include them as an extra for the actual hat, not a fludd replacement or anything. Is that really necessary? Is something used in a PSA or something?

The problems you get there are like if you weren't using properly the materials, or the textures you're trying to use with them. Check if everything is okay.

By the way, metal made for Phantom. It's the old-static one, not moving with the camera yet, just like Young Ganon. But looks great already.

That's not the real Stadium Mewtwo, but the Melee one with Stadium textures. The model is smoother, obviously, but I'm just wanting to import the old polygonal one. That's what I'm working on.

that mewtwo looks great will he have those blue stadium eyes for FS eyes? also the rigg looks great the only thing  that doesnt look almost perfect is his taill(wich i doubt its possible to make it look better since lucario taill bones are lackbuster) i will be waiting for this release :P

I cannot show it right now, but I have some pictures with the FS eyes, which are those blue eyes from stadium as you said. When he's hit, he has a vein in his head, and those blue eyes again. And he closes his eyes and such. He looks really great :D

By the way, I may not release him until some versions of his stage are made.

Also, my next character will be Melee Ganondorf. I've asked for a model to Oshtoby and he has nicely ripped it for me. So, I'll rig him and will try to make my own non-vertexed version of Melee Ganon, to be used as a playable character, and to substitute the current one in the Ganon's Tower stage. I may make OoT Ganondorf at the same time, or right after this one. Both will be included in updated versions of the stage.

That vein looks epic xD those eyes for FS eyes are perfect  much better than the usual yellow eyes and i can imagine mewtwo getting that vein when he attacks also if possible since it would really look mewtwo was using the brain powers.

The second picture really reminds me of PS where the camera closed up mewtwo eyes went blue and  he made the hand gexture before the attack xD.

Hope it gets released soon since the stage can wait xD  thats one of my most wanted imports so many memories of mewtwo in PS  and i can see you already are making the stage in the first picture :P should be easy since its just a flat stadium xD.

looks good you could also import the true mewtwo kirby hat from melee for kirby xD and you didnt need to go to that trouble since texture recource has all pokemon textures from PS2  including mewtwos eyes and such :P

What you're planning with that Jiggs reminds me that I want to update my FalconPuff and WarioPuff to be compatible with all the slots and not only the green one. I'll go into it when I'm done with my first exams (monday).

And about what Carnage said about Mewtwo's vein, the vein is only showing in the 'hurt' face (the picture shows it in the closed eyes one, but I removed it from that one). I may include a custom non-desynching moveset in which lucario (mewtwo) uses that face when performing some of the attacks. It would be cool in my opinion.

I suppose I'll end up releasing Mewtwo first. Not everybody wanting this Mewtwo is necessarily wanting the stage, so it's not necessary to bring them together.

its a shame brawl characters dont have an attack face xD  or it would be preety easy  to do that  but you removed the vein from the ouch face so now Fs eyes  show the vein and blue eyes? this could also work well together.

Doh! you're right! well I'm having a bit of trouble putting it on Jiggz's model. 3ds Max doesn't seem to like jiggz's model, and every time i try to import its dae, i get the same errors:
    -Warning: The transform of node "TopN" is not compatible with FBX, so it is baked into TRS.
    -ERROR: There is no joint element with SID "HairCN"
It does this for pretty much every bone. Also the polygons are an absolute mess If you can help me, can you send me a pm? or I could send you my files?

Well, I was attempting the Giant Jigglypuff glitch on Pirate Ship, but Jiggz got knocked over the top boundary while she was giant.
If I did take colors from your pictures, the color would be off due to the lighting.
Anyhow the keyword is what I plan to do with that Jiggs. When I'm in over my head, my plans usually end up flopping. The textures for Mewtwopuff are all finished (FS Eyes are Shining Blue), but when I try to put Mewtwo's KHat on Jiggz in the same way I did for Nana, All I get is a texture-less Mewtwo hat that stays in the center of the stage, not on Jigglypuff's head. To top it all off, 3ds Max doesn't seem to like me, as it won't import her DAE properly. It's got me scratching my head to the point where I think I might go bald at an early age. I may end up giving you my progress, since you're more familiar with this kind of thing than I am. Plus, I kind of want to work on other things, such as editing my Melee/64 Expansion for something... special.

I was just wondering yesterday why nobody has imported Melee Ganondorf yet. It was arguably the best vertex hack of its time, but it can't stand up to all of the imported Melee models on the other characters now.

I was just wondering yesterday why nobody has imported Melee Ganondorf yet. It was arguably the best vertex hack of its time, but it can't stand up to all of the imported Melee models on the other characters now.

Now if we can just get a Dr. Mario costume for Mario after Ganondorf is finished, then I'll be really happy.

By the way, I've been working on making some recolors.

The first one is Shiny Mewtwo as seen in Pokemon Stadium 2. Just bluish and less saturated.

This one is just a redish recolor, based on how Mewtwo looks when, in Stadium / Stadium 2, you give Mewtwo a nickname, and the result is redish. If you've played Stadium with your own pokemon from GBC, you know what I mean.

I never bothered with edits outside of multiplayer content but seeing how disappointed I was with the Mewtwo trophy (ugly PBR model is ugly) I'll be getting this if you plan to release it.

Hey, i already asked on your youtube but.

I know how to make stages from parts of other stages already in Brawl. If i were to make a model in 3DSMax or Blender and wanted to put it in a stage would that be possible? Obviously you use a lot of models that aren't in the game already for your stages so i thought you might know how.

Are there any good tutorials for this sort of thing? The only ones i've seen are Wackaalpacca's ones and they're pretty basic.

Most of my stages just used models in brawl, only that with edited vertices, and put together to look like new models. Anyway, model importing is possible now. You need 3dsmax (blender alone is not enough), some version around 2010, and some fbx plugin (fbx 2009.3 is the one I use I guess) so you can save the model as .dae.

The newer brawlbox is able to load .daes generated by some versions of the fbx plugin used in 3dsmax. There are some rules to follow, like having one material by object and others. Look at blackjax96's Brawlbox thread and there's some info about it. I guess not much more would really be needed, specially when it comes to stages. If you were to make characters, you may need some info about rigging, which, can mostly be found in that very same thread. All what I do for character/stage imports is learned from there and from testing with the brawlbox and 3dsmax programs.

Just put multiple copies of my Stadium Mewtwo Trophy (v2) in the stage, and gave them the different textures. That trick can be useful to show multiple recolors of a hack, as seen here, but can be tedious if the hacks/figures have a few textures each. In my case, Mewtwo only needed one texture per instance.

To be honest, the model is already in mediafire, the only thing left to include in the mediafire folder is the animation file so the faces change in attacks. That's just unfinished yet.

Well, maybe somebody has imitated them in some 'beta zelda' hack rom. I'll look for something like that, but, if not, I'll try to do something myself using those pictures.

I must say, this N64 Mewtwo is very nice. The rig seems pretty nice. Has a nice final smash eye texture. Has a VERY nice metal texture.

All and all, this is going on my Mewtwo- I mean, "Lucario" slots.

Also, that shadow you made looks nice on the Melee Mewtwo import as well. So that's a nice bonus as well. :P

Sure, that will be easy, so count with it.

By the way, I've updated Young Ganondorf. Like most of the first (and even present) imported characters, he had some shader issues. He also lacked the perfect metal, which has been included too. His shadow has been updated too.

Is that a texture hack or is your brawl actually doing that on its own? O_o Lol I've had weird stuff happen in my brawl when hacking but nothing like that... Stuff that has happened to me:
1- For a while after un-pausing the game would automatically pause, it stopped doing that gladly :D
2- Characters fly way up into the sky yet do not die and take a few minutes to get back down, so basically in time matches: match over XD
3- Characters countering each other's counters and nothing happening (Marth vs Roy XD)
4- Result screen having no sound (happened once o_o)
5- Texture sharing...

If that image is texture sharing then I wanna know where that texture is actually from O_o

Edit: PS: Got the blue eye and no vein :D Mewtwo is the most powerful pokemon, since when does he need so much power that he actually has a vein popping on his head? XD (I know its like that in Pkm Stadium but IMO it was an exaggeration on his attack animation =P)

It's not anything strange, it's just that I've 'baked' an emerald jigglypuff xD

Edit: There's no Mewtwo without vein, I mean, the no-vein is for the final smash, but he will always have the vein when hit, or when using the edited animation file.

It can be easily edited out of the texture anyway ^^U

Young Link looks really weird in some animations, so I'm waiting for a better version.
Toon Link has textures that say cel-shaded, but really it's just simple colors with normal Brawl shading. I tried importing WW Link's model myself, but as you know, I can't do [censored] in 3ds Max. I really sucks, too, because I went to the trouble of ripping most of the models for the weapons he used in-game.

Nah, I'm thinking about giving the current Toon Link a cell shade, nothing more. Unless you think the WW model is gonna look much better, in which case, you could send me your files, but note that I have other projects before it and would take me more time than the simple shader change (and texture edition) for the current Toon Link.

That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea, u could try porting WW Toon Link over Brawl Toon Link.

Anyway, it became possible yesterday, cause was yesterday when I noticed why metals didn't work in all cases.

Also, it's not exactly the same. It's almost the same, but there are the eyes. I was all the morning yesterday to make jiggz look well, cause the eyes weren't working well with the different shaders I tested. Also, brawlbox sometimes corrupts models, so it's a little harder to work by testing when this happens.

So all of them will have that silvery ghostly look or will they have that shining yellow-green look, I'm guessing your gonna include both?

Those colors are activated in the SSS mode I guess. It would be a simple texture edit, so I won't include them. People will be able to do anything with the characters in the pack.

I have an idea for a character import, since you're working on Banjo-Kazooie stages. Klungo over Donkey Kong. For alternate versions, you could give him a more beat-up look, like in Banjo-Tooie.

Mmm... To be honest, it makes me a little mad too... I mean, it looks horrible (sorry KTH).

I'm going to be honest 100%. Link is in my mediafire during 1 week now. 3 colors, and multiple different items. I'm gonna upload the rest of recolors (except the true Oni Link which isn't complete, and isn't just a recolor) and update the blog today xD

I'll leave the hookshot, bombs and such for a minor update, cause the character is one thing, and the items are just another different thing.

Not that, it's just I'm not getting the time to work on them. Last week my girl wasn't with me, that's why I've progressed with Link and even almost finished the Fire Temple. Now she's back, is harder to me to make hacks, and when I get time, I use it in things that are harder than those items. I don't share the ones I got at the moment, cause they're all in the same file.

Doing it is... well, not easy to teach xD

I spent hours to find the best way to make jiggz's eyes to work. With this, I mean that Jiggz is already done (just like Wario, Wolf, and mostly Sonic), so there's no need for you to work hard on getting it to work.

I'm sharing Dark Jiggz right now, get it from here, and do what you want with it, and the custom hats you need. Just get some of the materials in jiggz or any emerald character, and apply it to the hat. It's easy.

This, and that I'm not aiming to make the Dark characters to be as in SSE mode, I just want to make all the characters to have their own emerald version. And make all of those emerald versions to be affected visually by the metal box.

You and I are completely opposite. I lack a girlfriend and have more free time than I know what to do with. :P

I haven't turned on Brawl in quite a while, but I finally grabbed my SD card and put the game back in my Wii so I could add the Links. I got the default 3 colors plus the black one (the color that I used in Melee). From a zoomed out view you can hardly tell that they're N64 quality, yet the brighter colors still look better than Brawl's TP Link IMO. But it's nice to see that when you zoom in, it's not just any low quality model, but the OOT one specifically. I'll probably keep them for a while unless someone else happens to make a different Link model that looks better.

Do you have any idea when Fierce Diety Link will be done? I really want to get that one as well to go with these.

Once the Project M demo comes out in a few weeks, these Links will get some serious playtime because he's one of my Melee characters =)

m2000 i love your n53 imports keep them up :P now that importer is possible you should rip all the stage  in ssb that way they would be 100%  the same of the n 64 version but characters are cool too just keep doing what you want im sure to like what ever is next :P

It's not that I'm clamoring to get the N64 models instead of the modern ones. In the case of Link, I prefer the art style of his older models, regardless of the lower polygon count (you can tell what they were aiming for). If TP Link were on N64, he would still look different than OOT or MM Link.

That's my reasoning anyway. For some people, I'm sure it is just the nostalgia, or maybe the novelty of having multiple models from different games in the characters' series at the same time.

I took some pictures of the transparency if anyone wants to see how it works (since it's hard to notice in that picture because it's on water).

It's not at all distracting during normal gameplay since Link is all black and looks darker when it's zoomed out, but it's the kind of thing that if you really look for it, you can definitely notice the difference from a normal opaque character.

Of course it's not distracting. Dark Link starts out transparent in OoT to blend into the area, after u land some hits on him, he starts turning pitch black. (which means your actually beating him.)

I'm just saying, if there was some character that had 95% transparency, it would be a cool gimmick but I wouldn't personally use it in my game. Dark Link has a good balance of transparency so I'm keeping him.

No, he doesn't for the moment. From what I know, Link's expressions come with SHP0's, unlike other characters like Lucario (which use VIS0's). And, for the moment, unless I'm mistaken, the extra shapes to be animated with that kind of animations aren't importable with brawlbox yet.

I'll include face expressions when it's possible to make them.

Hey Mewtwo2000, when you planned on importing SM64 Mario, did you lpan on making him as acurate as you could get, with all his hands, and both hair polygons? If so, I kinda beat you to it. :P I've ripped both SM64 Mario and Luigi (Model hack by Staraxxon), rigged them both, and I'm almost done with the one-slot motion files for their multiple hands, plus I'm going to see if I can get rid of some of the glitches, like getting rid of the Peace Sign Hand whne shielding. :P And maybe try to get perfect metal textures. Anyways, I don't think there would be a reason for you to import SM64 Mario when I'm this much done with him and have him really acurate.

Seriously though, you should know by now that Mewtwo doesn't care if someone uploads something he planned on doing, he does his own version anyway, and it usually turns out better. Like that N64 Link. KTH uploaded his when M22K was almost finished with his. It ticked Mewtwo off a bit, but it didn't stop him.
Anyhow, Mewtwo, speaking of Mario, I just finished another SM64 item import, the Metal Box, which I'll be uploading later today. It has a sweet metal texture, and I hope to see it in your demo videos for any N64 characters/stages. ^^

It's been a while, so I thought I'd post something here. I was wondering if you still plan on importing Link's weapons, now that you don't have exams anymore. I did work a bit with Toon Link's Bombs. I did mess with the material and shader with TL's bombs, and it came out a bit weird. I'm not sure if it's relevant to N64 Link's 2-D bombs, but I thought I'd let you know anyway.

I was so hoping someone would do this.  One can only stick with the vertex for so long.  I want my Ganon to have more than one expression XD

With OoT Link and Mewtwo, I UV edited them to have one, or at least only a few maps. With T-Rex, I've used the original ones. Doesn't really matter :/

I don't guess it's gonna work no problem with yoshi, yoshi is really deformed when using this psa, so the inverted thing will be deformed too for sure.

Instead, I want to make the small one (Baby T-Rex) to go with the standard yoshi, so in case you don't use the PSA, you can get a Banjo-Rex too.

Rim Mario and Luigi are amazingly awesome. I combined them with some more vibrant color textures (from vBrawl) and it makes the game look so good.

If you do any others, I will use them without question.

I am really curious as to how this effect is achieved. I would enjoy learning to do this.

I'm just editing the materials and shaders so they use an extra texture, which work similar to the metal materials or the dark characters in the sse. Just adding one texture reference with that property to every material, and editing the shaders accordingly.

I've given the rim lighting to Peach and Bowser now:

Guess I better update me SM64 Toad from the SM64 Peach imports to have the metal cap texture. lol
So since Toad and Fludd are able to have metals, does this mean that any article can metals? This could add some pretty interesting effects, not to mention it can just be a simple texture swap, like giving the SM64 Wing Cap their unused Metal Wing textures, so who knows what interesting and cool effects can be added to stuff like capes and swords with this. ;D

Yah, almost every import that has any lighting effects like a shine, or specmap looks weird on Delfino, and some other stages. That has to be the stage itself, plus every character, weither its a hack or an original Brawl one doesn't matter, looks really bright on that stage. Because of this I don't care what effect my hacks have on that stage, just use it to show any shadow edits since shadows are visible on that stage. :notimp:

So that's the culprit. Glad to know. Perchance I will look into it if I ever get into stage hacking.

Hi there. You know I started a Melee Ganondorf import once, don't you? Well, I'm cancelling it.

JoeTE has released his own version (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=32173) and it's perfect. So I don't need to make mine anymore. It's just stupid.

It has expressions, it comes with the sword... In fact, I've only found 2 small flaws, but I've been curious about his hack and I've made my own edits to it. They're a small rigging problem on the neck, and some other under the right arm. Nothing really to care about, but I wanted to perfect it for personal use. I've also changed some small problem with the earrings material, made some change in the yellow eyes shader, and made it not to be double-sided in general.

I've also made a rim lighting version of that edit of JoeTE's hack, and I'll release that one as a collab if I get his permission. I'll also tell him about the small issues in case he wants to fix them in his hack.

He's been extremely careful. Perfect materials, proper names and order in vertex and normal nodes, used my improved metal materials for the parts with alphas... Just amazing. So go get it now xD

This is a picture showing my edit (you won't see the differences at all) and the rim lighting version of my edit (that's more noticeable, obv).

Oh, on a side note, I've been working on many rim lighting characters, most of them the original Brawl ones, and I've been using them in my last videos. I've been making the rim pikachus today. They've been done in minutes, but then I've noticed some problem that both the standard and green pikachus have. And it's difficult to notice, but it's there.

The yellow eye textures are in a format that may change the color when compressing the files, and in fact they use a different yellow for pikachu's skin due to this. That makes pikachu to have some ugly yellow parts in his face.

The truth is that it's nearly unnoticeable, but I've noticed it and I've been working to fix it. So, that problem is even less noticeable in my rim pikachus.

I've also made this Pikachu with Squirtle's glasses, I thought it may be cool, and I guess it is.

The easiest way is copying over the materials and shaders from a Brawl emerald character, which are the ones with the 'Dark' word (like FitMarioDark). That should give you at least most of the emerald character. There's sometimes parts that need special edits, like eyes or fur, but in general this would be it.

They won't get the changing color unless they're loaded from the 'Dark' costume, though. I'll make a version of this Mewtwo that's green in normal slots, you can copy over the materials from that one when released if needed.
