Whats the SFX id?
for who? sfx ID is either a hexadecimal number of a sawnd intstallation or target

or  a decimal number to name a sawnd file in the gecko modlauncher (BRSTM copier can identify this for you)
32  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Checking SFX Files with BrawlBox on: August 10, 2014, 04:48:40 PM
please look here for sfx related things in brawlbox

the place you are looking in your screenshots are only for SEQ to brstm rerouting hacks, not actual sound injections or playback

double click on an item in the long circled list to see th e sounds contained within, and you can playback the sounds given that the one you are checking is either a BNK or SWD

please note that this table will disappear if you click on any other items in that folder structure

the root "file" (selected by default on opening the file with brawlbox) must be selected at all times for that table to appear

it's hard to miss unless you click on other things beforehand

I have a mac so Gct files don't work and even when I use the right file my wii doesn't sense it
please make sure the files are in the right place

GCT in

<sd card> -> codes

the mod should also be in the right spot

example

<sd card> -> private -> wii -> app -> RSBE -> pf -> fighter -> diddy -> fitdiddy00.pcs

the wii is expecting the files to be in very specific folders with very specific names or it "won't notice it"

I just downloaded Pikezer's hack, and I can't seem to get it to work. I even reformatted my SD card and reinstalled Homebrew Channel, along with deleting my old SSBB save in case it may have been corrupt. I tried running it through Gecko, and it just gives me All the normal characters you start the game with, and the stage select screen has a bunch of copied Hannebro(Or however it's spelt) and Pokemon Stadium 2's. Anyone know what my problem is?
you may have some bad GCT in gecko

try this one https://www.dropbox.com/s/l1tqgefs873139a/rsbe01.gct

in any case, it may be a good idea to contact the uploader of the hack and ask what the full setup needs to look like,

There are also region specific things which either dont work, break, or act weird when used in other regions

like a PAL announcer call wont work on american and vice versa

DOES ANYONE HERE KNOW ANYONE I CAN HIRE TO HELP ME WITH THIS
no need to pay people now, the code manager doesn't work on a mac, and for the file patch code, as per standard proceedure. I ask to verify a few things:

your SD card, is it a 2 GB or smaller? (without further tinkering with the wii, you cant use a larger SD card and be able to load mods (or codes))

have you installed your mods (if any) in their proper place?

stages for example should be
private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/stage/melee/STGFINAL.pac

for fighters
private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/diddy/fitdiddy00.pcs

for music
private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/sound/strm/x24.brstm

did you NOT read above?
that was some help posts in figuring out your problem and the solution to it

Got it, thanks for letting me know! I have one more question though, if you don't mind. I've heard that you need LOZ Twilight Princess in order to set up Homebrew, is this true?
the brawl disc is easier, TP needs a speial infected save file on the wii system memory, brawl, you just go with the exploit and go to stage builder

Ok, so everything seems like it would be working except that your brawl XML for rivolution is just a bunch of stuff, and not a file. I can't put it into my SD card!

At this point, I would do the same. I've been working on one texture hack for about a month now, barely knowing what I'm doing.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z6us659reuxco4p/BeyondRiivolution.xml

select download and use the gecko diretory setup for this config

Ok, so i'm a Noob at Brawl Hacks(big surprise, Tongue), and i plan on doing a machinima in the future. Quick question though, i don't plan on getting a Wii, but i did hear that you could still do Brawl hacks and get Homebrew on a Wii U(well, to hack Wii games anyway). I'd like to know what are the main differences when it comes to the instructions in the Opening post if i decide to hack Brawl with a Wii U rather than a Wii? What would i have to do differently?
same as hacking the wii before the gameless hacks came out

2GB SD max
must have brawl disc
must use the stage builder thing (same [censored] project M launches through)

1. Alright. I found it. I'll look into it. Thanks.
2. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "this forums". Do you mean that there's a page on the KC-MM forums that would indicate where I locate the SDHC code? If so, could you give me a link to that/those page(s)?

Two things:

1. Where do I contact the PMBR?

2. How would I look into the SDHC code?
1) click our chat link, then join #projectM room
2) this forums

I did install the app. I said that in my previous comment; first sentence.

I know that you need a 2gb card to run it from the stage builder. I'm asking how can use a larger card with the app. You said it could be done, but it's not working. What am I doing wrong?
if SDHC isnt working with the project M launcher launching project M

ask the PMBR for help

otherwise, look into the SDHC code and checking that the app used uses an SDHC supported IOS

Per your previous suggestion of using the P:M app, that's what I'm using now. I would like to keep everything on one card, if possible.

My 8gb is formatted to FAT32 which I have not used before with Brawl hacking; I've always used the FAT format and I've never had a problem with it. (Note that my 8gb will not allow me to format it to FAT, nor have I found a way for the Wii itself to format my card as a digital camera can.) I don't know if this is the problem, but other than the size of the card, the format, and the class, there's nothing different between my 8gb and my 2gb. Any suggestions?
fat32 has a higher copacity per file and size limit, FAT is i think 2GB capacity max, and fat32 is 32 GB, xfat is 256GB

that doesnt matter on formatting, you will still need the 2 GB to launch the modlauncher from stage builder, then SWITCH sd cards when the app comes up, if this fails, then you HAVE to install the app to the wii menu or install homebrew from the 2GB

Project: M (in one way or another) is essentially part of, or uses, the Twilight Hack correct? According to http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/SD/SDHC_Card_Compatibility_Tests a SD card thats 4gb or higher (SDHC) does not work with the Twilight Hack.

If that's true, then how am I supposed to use an SD card that's larger than 2gb with P:M?

Currently, I'm using a Transcend 8gb SDHC Class 10 card because my other 2 Transcend 2gb SD cards weren't enough. (I also have both 512mb and 256mb cards, but that's irrelevant right now.) All I did was copy the exact files from one 2gb card to the 8gb card. The 2gb cards worked fine, but as I said, didn't have enough memory. When I use my 8gb, it loads HBC and shows that I have P:M on the card and even loads the P:M menu. But when I press "PLAY", it just goes back to the Wii menu (also if I don't do anything for a while on the P:M menu, everything freezes except the background music).

Can someone please help me out with this? I just spent almost $10 on this card so it's brand new and I don't want to have it be a waste of money.

simple, its not the hackless set that works with larger SD cards

you need to already have used the twilight hack to install either homebrew or the projectM launcher (BOTH of which support cards bigger than 2 GB)

the gateway to starting hackless or installing them to your wii menu hackless does *NOT* support larger than 2 GB

additionally if its something like riivo, you can have a clone of the app  part of the two sd cards, and the bigger one have the mod pack installed on it, and just as the app booots, switch the two sd cards before the app gets a chance to read it

Mario: Fireball Sound SMB
Zelda: Why are you looking at me like that? (from a deleted pokemon episode)
Ganon: POOTIS (Heavy Voice)
PM Chars
Mewtwo: This is not my destiny!
hmm, it seems my talent is still needed...  I've long since retired from brawl modding outside showing off random things i make when bored
by the way, they do give warnings for posting in threads who's last post has been very long ago,.. I guess i can resume my last breath of work  here, but to avoid warnings, we should stop using this thread, contact me via PM, or IRC, via the chat button at the top of this page if you guys want to talk about anything, though my focus is currently on a "how real men" video series
