Pretty much what's in the title, I've been trying to add some new textures to Bowser, but the game doesn't recognize them and just loads his default ones instead. I'm only using the pcs, not the pac, and, yes, I'm naming the fitkoopa##. Anyone else having this problem?
Well, I went back t just plain PM and haven't had any problems. If no one else is having problems on the expansion Brawl stages I guess it's probably just a problem with my SD card.
I do have my card formatted to FAT16 instead of FAT32 because I thought I'd heard that it would make things run better. Could that be the problem? Is everyone else using 32?
It's a problem I know we've all faced more than a little, the most frustrating thing ever, random crashing. Of course I'm not talking about stuff that crashes for a reason, just those random times where mid match everything just goes stupid. Does anyone out there have any useful tips on how to reduce this problem? I usually back up and format my SD card, but I'm wondering if you guys have any better tricks up your sleeves.
I completely understand the intent of returning popular Melee characters to their Melee gameplay, but I am still mystified as to why time was spent reverting unique animations to the previous clone versions when, in my mind at least, it is unnecessary from a gameplay standpoint. Things like Ganon's dair and Falco's jabs seem like they could easily maintain both their Melee properties and the more aesthetically appropriate Brawl animations.
But, on topic, while I do feel it's hypocritical for a project modifying another team's work to take steps preventing their work from being modified, it seems as though much of this is simply due to the way PM has to be coded to work, and that's fine.
I think the bottom line is I don't believe the PM team has a right to expect their work to not be modded, but I also don't believe it has any obligation to allow others to mod it. Or to worry about what others want it to be for that matter.
I've been using the P:M pack and keep getting crashes on stages like Distant Planet and original Green Hill Zone. I've added some stuff, but the freezes have only taken place when nothing I've added has come into play. Does anyone have any suggestions on things I could try?
I can't imagine any way to do this without a code, you would need to do some kind of programming to tell the game what graphic to associate with what character. It may not require difficult coding, but it will require some. I don't see how it wouldn't be possible though since we already have the same thing for stages, I think that would be the best place to start.
Weapons factory is a very cool idea. I haven't gotten a chance to play with it yet, but based on the vid I had a couple of suggestions:
-You should consider making the individual pieces come in on their own, like, instead of waiting x amount of time for 2 platforms to come in, maybe have them come in one at a time at smaller intervals, that way its changing more often and more gradually so it would be a little easier to play on
-Maybe instead of having the second level be all conveyor find a way to mix in some pass-through areas so the bottom part doesn't become a death trap.
-It seems like the platform that appears right before the stage gets shipped off isn't grabbable. Considering it's insta-death if you miss it I'd suggest changing that.
A lot of this probably sounds like nitpicking, but it's only because I really like what you have so far, keep it up!
I was trying to edit the CSS of Project M to change the layout and add the unreleased characters. I got to the CSS fine, but the CSS was weird (I'll explain specifics later) and after moving the cursor some it froze. Does anyone know if there's something in the code that prevents modification? (a line limit or something)
What specifically happened: I added Pokemon Trainer's space back in, but it just came up as a blank space and the game froze as I was moving my cursor to the blank space (Ithink it froze as soon as it would have recognized that it was over the space) Also, the bottom row was 3 characters, random, then 3 more characters but the last 3 didn't show up at all.
An insight would be greatly appreciated, I've just come back from a long hiatus of hacking so I'm pretty rusty.
Is it weird that I'm impressed by your sketches enough to mention it?
Just wanted to throw in that it should be totally possible to set stamina matches as the default rule-set, but I don't think there would be a way to have the amounts different for each character like in most "normal" fighting games.
This happened to me way back when and I believe it was because my common5 had become corrupted. I believe all I had to do was export the directory with the portraits (it's been awhile, I don't remember what it's called) download a fresh common5 and then re-import that directory.
If that fails you may want to go through and make sure none of your CSPs are in too high quality, you need to keep the common5 below a certain amount of memory (again, sorry can't remember what it is)
