    Good news:
    I got Snake's textures!

    Bad news:
    He's joined the blue man group.



    I've got the textures for Snake, but not the appropriate pallete.
    I'm so close. I feel as sad as Snake looks...

    Wow, what a bummer. But those couldn't be the right ones, you know. I remember you sending me the MGS:TTS item textures and a few of them were blue, so don't worry, you just got the wrong version.

    Meh, Snake is Snake wether he's Original, Cloned or Old.

    I am absolutely sure that the textures I dumped from MGS3 are the correct textures for Snake. As I explained, the only thing missing from the textures is their pallettes. This is because there is only about 20 textures in my textures folder, and only one of those look like Snake's face.

    I'd rather get Snake's proper colours instead of guessing them.
    Tonight I'll try a later version of 3D Ripper DX and a different version of the plugin I'm using, and fiddle around until I find the best combination.

    I'm planning on asking mariokart64n about it as soon as they come back, if I don't work it out myself.



    It's not guessing, that's not how the tool works.  Trust me it'll be indistinguishable from the real deal.  This is what I just did in about five minutes with the picture you just posted without really taking any care to touch things up like I would with the real textures:


    Obviously if you can get the palettes working then this is no replacement, I just don't want you to have to go through a lot of extra work when we can easily get the colors through alternative methods.

    So, are ALL the textures you ripped blueish? Mind sending me the box textures if the palette is good? I could use those most certainly for coolio stuff.

    Oh, no need to do that, it's not the complete face and Mariokart already ripped the full splitter face a while back.  I was just doing that to show Friedslick what I could do.

    Wow, eager eager...
    I hardly have any textures to give you, xxTerminatorxx. And I have to assume that all the textures are lacking pallette data. It'd take a while to redo ALL of Snake's body camoflage colours, and ALL of Snake's face camoflage colours.
    Just give me time to study for my exams, and later tonight I'll tell you if I've given up.

    That was the groadiest thing I heard on this thread.

    Yes, hopefully those vertex edits are possible.

    Iroquis Plisken *cough cough Snake cough cough* is now in Brawl! He has complete textures! However, he's lacking some good model work if ya know what I mean. I'll tell you what needs to be done.







    Ok, let me explain our model issue here. Apparently, we got this nice little headband tail that won't leave us alone, second, his forehead is so damn thick. He looks like a caveman...
    Plus he's lacking a few details too.

    Also, I'm not worrying about the headphones. They will be to hard to add at the moment, so I made a version without them. Once we fix all of the model retardedness we have currently, I'll set me head toward the headphones and I'll update it with the shiny new headphones.
    Sound ok?

    Here is WHAT MUST be done in order to finish the texture:
    - Flatten his headband, so his forehead dosn't look think.
    - Delete his headband tail. It looks like some strange flag thing coming out of his head.
    - Vertex his hair to kind of cover up half of his headband/forehead, so it looks like his hair is free.

    What I would love to be done in the future, after the above is complete:
    - Model his ENTIRE body to look similiar to the trophy model.

    - Vertex his ears into headphones.

    If you are so nice as into finishing this for me, post the updated version here or private message it to me. Whatever floats your boat. Of course, whoever fixes the model will be credited.

    yeah back then you could rip textures using 3dripperDX, and maybe  a certain version of PCSx2 for game compatibility reasons.. 3dripper only works on "One" graphic plugin for pcsx2. on the later version of the plugin gxdx? 3dripperdx will actually capture the proper colours.

    but not like it mattered to me. the blue is actual just inverted.. you could invert it SUPER SUPREMELY MEGA AWESOME WOW EASY LIKE BAM!


    an image is made up of 3 primary colours, swap them and you shall find wonder byond your imagination... <_< .. so seriously..

    I've been ripping models for about 5 years, with various tools and approaches like hacking. So if you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to email me. !but don't ask me for [censored], though I hate when people do that.

    you can tamper with the colour channels in adobe photoshop, but don't ask me how cause apparently the way I do it doesnt exist in the newer version O_o?

    I tried ripping and I can't start the game via 3DripperDX with gsdx.

    Was the plugin or 3D ripper DX updated???

    Inverted colours? Makes sense.
    Let's see if I can figure it out from here.

    EDIT: Wow, there's nothing I can find that will reverse the colour order of an image... Guess I won't be taking any shortcuts then. I'm going to download more older revisions of GSdx* and see what works best.
