Well right now... My hopes are on Groudon...

Gamma, I just noticed that you and I are the only ones who voted Gardevoir.

Assuming Groudon pulls ahead and ends up winning this, does anybody have any ideas they'd like to share about what they want for his moveset? I'm having some trouble coming up with one.

Yeah, it's a shame. I really wanted Gardevoir to win. /:

    Hrm...

I dunno, his moveset needs to incorporate Solarbeam, Sunny Day, Earthquake, and Fire Blast in some way.

Also, Fissure for his Final Smash?

Maybe you should add Eruption as a move, assuming it's one of Groudon's trademark attacks.

Crap looks like Gardevoir's not gonna win  Sad Oh well

as far as moveset for Groudon, I think one of his specials could definitely be Overheat (Like from when he comes out the Poke Ball) and it could be one of those damaging moves

Or could be what Gamma said

Although for the Side B, he could probably have Hammer Arm maybe Undecided

Theres a few moves he could have now that I think about it Undecided

EDIT: Oh, and if you use Solarbeam, that should be a chargable move

Something no one has asked yet, would you start out with a balanced moveset in mind, or overpowered? Or would it just depend on how it turns out or which character is chosen?

For Groudon, you could do something like:

    Neutral B- Solar Beam-
*Grounded: Chargeable like Samus's neutral B. When fully charged, it fires a thick beam forward and slightly upwards. It would only go about as far as wolf's blaster (unless you went the overpowered route, where should go all the way across the stage or at least as far as Fox/Falco's blasters). If Down B Sunny Day is used before hand, the charging stage is gone or the charge is carried out dramatically faster.

*Mid-Air- Beam could fire diagonally down.

    Forward B- Earthquake-
*Grounded: Leaps forward slighly, shaking the ground upon landing. A ton of startup lag as he prepares to leap, but the jump and landing should be fairly fast. Several hitboxes going outward progressively weaker. The hitbox closest to his body being a killmove at low-medium %'s.

*Mid-Air: I can't see anyway that Earthquake could work in the air lol.

    Up B- Eruption-
*Grounded: Bends over a bit and fires flaming rocks from his body.  The rocks and explosion travel almost straight up from the body.
The first few having a staggering effect with a larger rock finishing the move and bringing knockback. Explosion GFX all around.

*Mid-Air: Flips over and fires off some flaming rocks below him. First 2-3 small rocks, then a larger one. With explosion/fire gfxs in the general area. Similarly to Ivysaur's dair. This move should propel him upwards as the rocks are ejected.  Fairly good vertical recovery distance, but not much horizontal. First rocks should have a staggering effect, with the larger finishing rock having good knockback.

    Down B- Sunny Day:
Spawn a circular sun-like gfx over his head. All moves with fire flags (a few of his A moves, eruption and lastly solar beam) would gain damage/knockback boosts for a period of time. Solar Beam would no longer need to be charged.

For the A moves, maybe one could come up with something after watching his scenes from one of the Pokemon movies.

Final Smash: Fissure- 1hit ko any opponent near him.

Why do most people base Pokemon movesets off of popular Smogon movesets. Why not make something original for Brawl? Im srs here

Just because it's a Smogon moveset doesn't mean it can translate well into Brawl.

That's a really cool and creative moveset Weyard. I'm liking a lot of the ideas presented here for Groudon. If he ends up winning, I'll run all of them by SDo0m. The goal should be to make a balanced PSA instead of an overpowered one. It doesn't have to be perfectly balanced but as long as it isn't completely broken and unfair to play against I'd be happy.

@ Velen: It's not because they're "smogon moves". It's because they are his trademark moves that make him stand out. Eruption, Fissure, Sunny Day, and Solar Beam aren't used on competitive Groudons because they're special and Groudon is mainly a physical attacker. He would want something like Fire Punch instead. Fissure would be a pretty bad idea on an actual Groudon and Sunny Day in particular would be almost completely useless on him competitively.

These are Groudon's "Smogon Moves". Most of which aren't the moves suggested for him.

I'd love this, surely. Groudon's awesome... (It is part of third Gen, which is the last Gen I've played)

Oh and Diabolos' vertex is pretty much done. I just have to texture him now. Because Ganondorf is pretty annoying and confusing to texture, it'll probably still be a while before he actually is released.

How do you figure that Velen? I'm starting to think you just like to complain lol.

Why are people suggesting "Sunny Day" as a move for Groudon, his ability ALWAYS makes it sunny. So Solarbeam would kinda be OP for Groudon to have.

And Overhead should be his FS. If someone can port the size mod Groudon on Giga Bowser, then have him just deal damage if someone touches him.

Also, Fire Blast should be either Side B or Neutral B. And maybe somehow incorperate Dig as down special?
