Good job there, by the way.

I am a shameless voice actor, heh I think the reason that Olimar, Snake and Pit are clearer than the other SFX is because dsx8 forgot to write them out for me in the list I read off and my audacity project sample rate was originally at 41400 (or something like that) when I recorded them all, then I had to change the sample rate down to 16000 and then I recorded those three. The weird thing about the RSAR is that the frequency/sample rate of the replaced sound has to be the same (or close to?) the original sound or it won't play in-game, which is why I had to convert all of them down to 16000. That's not BB's fault though. Recording directly into the right sample rate in Audacity produces a clearer sound than converting it later I guess. I'll have to write out a mini tutorial and some rules for SFX importing like I did for model importing.

Everyone but Squirtle had an intense call; Squirtle's sounded like: "Eh, it's Squirtle." But good job getting it to work!

black jax did u edit all the characters sfx in the upload u made of your smashbros_sound brsar?
reason why i ask is because supposebly file patch v4 NTSC-u freezes when playing certain characters sfx like Bowser, because "they use a different format", but surprisingly it did not
i havent had any problems with ur smashbros sound using just the file patch code and Usb loader (no riivo, no iso editing, and no sawnds and [censored])

I just replaced the character announcer calls and let BB rebuild the rsar, that's it.

So its basically like replacing models or texture swapping, but with sfx?

To anybody who tried that RSAR... does the game freeze right when a match starts? do you know if its true that characters like bowser, ic, samus, and zelda have a different format for their sound files?
There's nothing different aside from the fact that bowser, samus and zelda transform and ic are two characters functioning at once... So its basically like replacing models or texture swapping, but with sfx?
Pretty much, except it's a little bit more complicated if you want to add sfx.
