    RSAR editing sounds boss.  The item moveset editing would be nice as well, though; I've been wanting to power up the Brawl- "Gandouken" (Super Scope) for some time.  Unless that's already possible somehow.


    Item moveset editing will be added in Ikarus.
    I parsed item movesets a while ago but I lost all the progress D:

    when you find time...
    could you fix up the model exporter to work with more professional programs such as Blender, Maya, or XSI??
    (if 3DS can be used to directly make games, I will retract the professional part)

    blender has DAE image errors...

    ^NOTE: this is blender 263 which had it's DAE importer fixed and is almost entirely (if not entirely) supportive of any DAE format.

    What do you have against 3ds Max anyway? I mean really, it's just a tool. They're all just tools that do the same thing in the end. Some tools just have more features than others and that's probably why there's a price tag on some of them. It's not like you can't download 3ds Max for free as a student anyway.

    It already works with Maya, Blender isn't professional and who cares about XSI.

    Maya is used by Nintendo, and was already rated the #1 program...
    Blender 26x (from experiance) comes next as it's just as capable of building fully featured games just like Maya.
    XSI I havn't really used all that much, but I like it so far XDD (other than the constant crashes)
    Blender 24x is the lower less professional version... though I still use it...
    3DS comes next... (I havn't seen anything decent from 3DS other than here on kc-mm)
    Google Sketchup is here just to make an appearence it doesn't deserve Im srs here

    but this tool has a horribly cluttered, and much too organized GUI...
    plus it's tool control and stuff completely throws you off (kinda like XSI, except XSI is more appropriate)

    Blender (26x) has a much more decent GUI...
    though I do bamf their new defaults for basic control <_<


    if you can prove to me that 3DS can make it's own games or movies, (more-so games as even Sketchup can make movies) I'll stop h8n on 3DS...

    3DS max is not meant as a game development tool period.
    you cant compare 2 softwares for features they weren't made for, 3DS max is made for modelling and animating, which just are part of video games, and thus, it's possible to use stuff created in 3ds max for video games.
