All right! That's great news. Thanks, Eternal Yoshi! Cheesy

    What about being able to:

    - Move around while under the box
    - Stay under the box indefinitely / until a certain button is pressed
    - Drop C4 or grenades while under the box

Are those possible to implement as well?

Anyhow, now we just need to find an animator. Anyone know where to look?

^ I think you can find it in this archive:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=bf68243dc4c908b28d78a0e5552916095d6170349cac00195be6ba49b5870170

    Here's the direct link:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?mjz4jf3ln2m

Anyhow... I just downloaded the Salute taunt files, and read your READMENAO:

    Eternal Yoshi here.

Put the Salute_Taunt.chr0 into FitSnakeMotionEtc.pac over AppealHi.
I added proper SE for it.
The FitSnake.pac file is made so that the box is gone.
Nothing else about his moveset was altered.

    Over.

Um, I've actually never used BrawlBox or Tabuu before, so I don't know how to place that Salute_Taunt.chr0 file. :/

I did try the FitSnake.pac file, though - it removed the box from all three of Snake's taunts and made them end very quickly, like you said. I could hear the salute sound effect from the up taunt...

Speaking of which, we had planned on making the salute the side taunt, since the up version of the box happens to be the the fastest form of the box taunt. Was there a reason why you made the salute taunt over up taunt instead of side taunt?

Lastly, is it "all-or-nothing" when it comes to removing the box? We want to keep the box over one taunt, and hopefully modify it so Snake can move while under it, and possibly drop C4 or grenades.

Sorry I'm unfamiliar with BrawlBox and Tabuu. If you would give a brief explanation on how to place that Salute_Taunt.chr0 file, I could try (assuming my PC can run one of those two programs). Or you could go ahead and place the file into the FitSnakeMotionEtc file - I can use those. Smiley

P.S.: Once we've got the Salute, Smoking (or Cloaking Device), and (moving/C4/grenade) Box taunts ready to go, let's make Brawl+ and Brawl- (and Balanced Brawl too, why not) "FitSnake.pac"s and "FitSnakeCustomEtc.pac"s ready to drop in the Snake folder.

No reason, but it's not a problem. I still have the old animation and parameters, so I can move the salute and/or the fastest enter box animation if needed.

The fix I'm doing is rather ghetto and isn't final.
Eventually, it won't be all or nothing, but as of now, just wait a bit.

Open Brawlbox, Open FitSnakeMotionEtc.pac in Brawlbox, and you should see 2 files in there.
    They are called:

    FitSnakeEtc
    FitSnakeMotion

Click on FitSnakeMotion, tap right on the keyboard, and repeat for the AnimationData[0] that is in FitSnakeMotion and again for the folder AnmChr[NW4R].
Look for AppealHi. It's towards the bottom. Right click, click replace, and choose the Salute_Taunt.chr0 file. Save and you're done.

Edit: oh Snap. I forgot Shanus noticed a variable that can make restoring the box animations feasible.

Very good progress on custom taunts for Solid Snake. btw, according to the Metal Gear Wiki a cardboard box has so far been used for...
    * THE ORANGE Box: a box for hiding. In MGO, it could be used for fast attacks and bullet dodging. (MG, MG2, MGO, MGS, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4)
    * Love Box: a box that fits two people. (MGSPW)
    * Rescue Box: an ambulance that gives health. (MGSPW)
    * Tank Box: a tank that in CO-OP shoots grenades. (MGSPW)
    * Stun Tank Box: a tank that fires stun grenades in CO-OP. (MGSPW)
    * Smoke Tank Box: a tank that fires smoke grenades in CO-OP. (MGSPW)
    * Bomb Box: a love box that when damaged or looked under explodes; it also inflicts damage on the user upon exploding. (MGSPW)
    * Stun Box: a  that when looked under or damaged explodes in stun; it also stuns the user. (MGSPW)
    * Smoke Box: a love box that when looked under or damaged explodes in smoke; it also affects the user if in close proximity. (MGSPW)
    * Assassin's Straw Box: A love box designed to look like a barrel of hay that can pull patrols into it, instantly knocking them out. If a co-op partner in the box has fulton~ recoveries equipped, anybody brought into the box will be instantly fultoned away. (MGSPW)

~the Fulton Recovery System is an escape method consisting of balloon signals and a carrier plane.

On another note, I've been digging for a solution to ripping MGS3 textures (and possibly models, though this is less likely.) I've found some posts with more leads, as well as some general info on the topic (thanks to mariokart64n.)

It's possible that at least some MGS3 camoflauge textures (such as the DLC camoflauge) are stored in the game save file. Though it could be the case that they are simply 'unlocked' within a save. If anyone has looked into modifying textures in "Animal Crossing: City Folk," they would know that all the villager textures are stored within the game save file. That's what makes me believe it's possible that the camoflauge textures could also be in MGS3's game save file.

Here are the posts I've found so far, if anyone wishes to investigate a little:
    http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=16089251&postcount=20
    http://www.deep-shadows.com/hax/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5966&start=0#p34591
    http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33854

Also, searching for 'MGS3 model' on Imageshack returns some possible results:

Does anybody know where I can find good textures for Outer Haven (I doubt any MGS4 textures have been ripped) or is anybody good at making textures?

If what I've read from a forum is any indication, each act's files are heavily encrypted like MGS3's so....... You have to find someone to make textures.

Got it, thanks! I'll see what I can do.

Has anybody started on making a Liquid Ocelot vertex hack yet? I'd make it but I don't have the necessary tools.

Hmm, it seems something like texture data would still have to be compressed, even in a game save file. I guess there's no shortcut to this then :\ .
I'm going to start work on ripping the camoflauge textures from MGS3 the hard way.
