In all honesty though, I hear Sonic can be a pain to vertex though. And his anatomy is so weird and so select that only characters that are from his series look any good at all.

Good to see that it exported properly. And good to hear that the animations work OK, but something tells me Kyogre is gonna need a fair amount of bones disabled to look perfect during battle.

ya man, at first i started making phione over lucas to go with aafs manaphy but it wasnt working. so i wanted to make a match for aafyres grodon =D and then i wanted to finish the legendary trio. No weed tday tho.

not bad, a couple parts could use some fixing but this is definetly a good samus vertex.

Well, I tried out Kyogre in game, and holy [censored]ing [censored] bro, what an epic hack.
It feels so much like Kyogre, that I forget I'm using Samus.
I've figured out where most hit boxes are, but still it's too sexy to watch him shoot missiles out of his fins, and shoot that final smash laser out of his mouth. Almost looks like Hyper Beam, but sexier man.
Amazing job my dude.

All perfectly reasonable reasons. Plus, Zamus could be ported on Ike or Marth so that a Hakumen can still be made with Counter Attacks.

Again I agree with Wave. Still, beggars can't be choosers, so I guess I should just be glad that Hakumen is getting made at all, even if he's going to act and sound like my least favorite character in the game (and theres no hope for any sort of PSA).

I know KC:MM's Hakumen isnt the real hakumen, but i had never heard of the character before seing him/her on here. So in my eyes he/she is Hakumen. I was also told when we first met that he was a girl. I later found out that he/she was genderless =D
So therefore Hakumen looks like a man but speacks like a woman but is actualy a man who is actualy genderless.... or something.

Becuase ingame where star would have an alpha layer (invisible texture) it shows up black in game so there is a bit of black all around the petals.

For some reason, there are not a lot of Quadrupeds in Yu-Gi-Oh. Especially not many that Ivysaur can be turned into...

Ah the sweet memories I had with Yu-gi-oh. I still have my collection of cards. Over 2000 or so. I have such fond memories not only watching the show but also playing with my friends. Yugi will be great I'm sure. Here's a few suggestions I have for his monsters:
Squirtle:
Main Suggestion - Kuriboh
Other Suggestions - Watapon, Red Gadget, Green Gadget, Yellow Gadget, Marshmallon
Ivysaur:
Main Suggestion - Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast
Other Suggestions - Gaia the Fierce Knight, Gazelle King of Mythical Beasts, Catapult Turtle
Charizard:
Main Suggestion - Slifer the Sky Dragon

It's not something that Yugi used often. I simply thought it would be one of the best fits for Ivysaur. That and its design is cool.
Dark Magician would be cool, but as you guys said it would need to be an import and when that's the case then it will probably be glitch and it wouldn't at all fit the Pokemon Trainer movesets. Though a good Dark Magician could probably work on Marth (even though Marth has more than enough good vertexes already).

There is zero point in vertexing wings for Winged Kuriboh. It makes 1000x more sense to make regular Kuriboh, i.e. one of Yugi's actual signature monsters that actually is a very important representation of his deck. This is YUGI we are talking about here. The problem with CHimera is that he has two heads, and I doubt that even StarWaffle can manage that.

Well, I stopped buying the cards and following the show a while ago (even though they were such a big part of my life back then). The Abridged Series is really the only way I follow the series now.
Did no one look at my post?.. Gazelle, King of Mythical Beasts has one head and is a fusion material for Chimaera in the Battle City arc. So he should be in place of Chimaera. And Dark magician is Yugi's main monster so he needs to be there, port over Squirtle if possible, but his Cursed Dragon was his main dragon so he should be over Charizard.
Honestly, Kuriboh wouldn't survive in Brawl..

Still if you can take a punch to the face from Obelisk the Tormentor, AND negate the damage. Then you're badass no matter how you look at it.
Also, Kuriboh has saved Yugi's butt in majority of his duels. It's one of the main reasons that Yugi is the world champion.

But I never said he wasn't awesome D: I said all he can do is be sacrificed to stop damage, not really many attacks he can perform with his body. Unless you plan making him Jigglypuff/Kirby-like with claws though.

What's your point? If we were really going to get into that sort of thing, why did they choose Rock Smash, a move that no one in their right mind would use for a Charizard, as one of Charizard's attacking moves? It's all about design.
I'd take a hilarious looking pot with a face bobbling about and shooting spore out of its lid than have some really twitchy Dark Magician walk around on four legs. From a design standpoint, it makes more sense in a very weird way. Still though, I'm more up for Catapult Turtle myself XD Season 1 was hilarious. They broke the rules in every duel.

Yes, it is since banning started. It's really stupid for us Yugioh players, makes our Cards' value die. I recently quit playin' (Before the last ban list). The only thing wrong with petey is transparency issues with his petals. His arms work fine.

Yes it does nana just shares the same animations as popo for the most part so it will work out.

Well, it's not my ALL-TIME Favorite. As stated, I don't even use the PSA. To Me, Shadow is just Sonic in black...YEAH, I SAID IT.
My ALL-TIME favorite is Bomberman. It was pretty darn clever to replace those Pikmin with Bombs.
And, I also forgot to state I use Totodile and The Hammer Bros.

Junior is my all time favorite by Star. Also the size mod is only for junior. All other characters wont be affected. And amazing job with K.Boo!..... I want him so bad but I HATE Olimars move set.

^ Well... Star made Pacman out of Sonic's Sphere model and tried to make it always show up in game but it doesn't... I think. I know that when you use the spindash you can see it (looks awesome btw) but I don't know why his sphere won't show up otherwise...

thanks i think i just got a idea for one of his attacks :D
a Ki blast on Side-Tilt (ofc a weak one and not long range since it is just a normal attack) for Kid goku (DB) still writing the moveset
GT moveset i will work on right after Kid goku (DB) and they both is ported over Ness so you getting both moveset but not in one PSA (maybe i can do a mix of them just for you)
SSJ will not be FS on GT moveset it will be spirit Bomb (bigger then Adult Goku´s) that one vs. omega since that is the same Finsher move in DBZ BT3 for Goku (GT) (normal) and DragonFist is like a normal move so it can be on Side-B
but if i can get SSJ mode that will be added
SSJ3 hair is also hard to look good

I wanted a Kid goku in brawl that isn't strictly from one anime. I wanted a BRAWL kid goku, where we can just take moves from wherever we want. look at sdooms' Kid buu animations, i'm pretty sure he didn't carefully watch the show and recreate every animation he ever did. He simply took the character and gave him some badass fighting moves.

not call your´s kid goku (GT) vertex but Kid goku (Brawl) vertex :D
ok i have already planed afew moves on kid Goku (DB) and on GT moveset that will be too easy to make almost anything is port animations/Copy and paste in PSA form CF to lucas boneset (animations) and Ness´s PSA(PSAing) (cuz of mine Kid goku movesets will be over ness so we can keep gotenks in our roster)

It quite clearly does look like Goku. It's just done in a different style. One that isn't canon to DBZ and is of Star's original creation taking multiple aspects of different Kid Goku outfits and combining them into one, then adding his own flair (such as the hand bandages). I thought this was obvious from the very first preview, and by the fact that Star said numerous times that he was making a "Brawl Goku".
His face is Goku's with Star's own flair. His proportions are still Goku's and obviously the hair is still Goku's.
Anyways, awesome work on Kid Goku and Sackboy Star. I love Goku's eyes. I just really like how they have that little shine on them. And of course, the hand bandages are cool as well.

When you showed the first preview Star I have to admit I was a bit skeptical, the hair is what made me feel you might not get the look. But now, he looks astonishing. You got the look but at the same time you gave him your own touch, which isn't so far fetched. And now I can finally add Lucas back to my roster, I missed the little guy.

The nose is pointy, just not from that angle. and i cant make it go upwards underneath. its an absolute mess under there.
I'm not using a bunch of falcon's textures so imma reduce em and make falcon's body 1024x1024 should be easier to texture.
Anyways, This is more of a wtf character than anything. Its there for teh lulz, kinda like falco-oh.

i see some serious animation issues...
u made the needle out of his body, looks like its his torso... so waist and bust bones will be messing... u made the wings from his visor, if u didnt attach it through hexing to the torso, it will move along with the head, which is an pbvious problem, and the legs... are they close to where captain falcon's legs are???

-AWESOME modelling, perfect, on an impossible character, just like kyogre.
-WEIRD character selection, like kyogre... xD
-animations??? i cant say, since weve only seen him in T-stance.
-if it animates correct, i'll definitely download it, if not, i wont... cuz i like to play brawl to play brawl, not just to lol...

Anyway he did get the animations to work properly on kyrogre, so I don`t see the big issue, not like there is one.

Jokekid has some valid points. While editing a character's entire list of animations is unreasonable, keeping the bone structure mostly intact is a priority.

i voted for the last option and im not trolling lol since many vertexers are saying the model importer is coming we are out of "job" i tough he fell into that groove since many vertexers will stop brawl hacking once the model importer is out

no they wont, they should make custom models so they can be imported, if its a custom model, it has less limitations rite?

I mean sure, with it we'll be able to have the original models of characters into Brawl, but That Shouldn't mean that Vertexers should stop vertexing.
I mean, what about characters who have no 3-D model whatsoever or characters who only have blocky, low definition models from the N64 era? Vertexers could still be around and make quality vertexes of those characters.

i agree but im not a vertexer they are the ones who have to decide i also think there are alot of models that will maybe need some edits here and there like putting in tstance fixing hands or body or like lots of ppl say they can make custom models from scratch but i have seen some of them saying they will just stop hacking and do other stuff

If a character doesn't have a preexisting model, make a new one. Vertexing would be totally obsolete.
There's literally so many more advantages to making a custom model...

Each has their own advantages and disadvantages.
Custom models:
Pros: Nearly no limitations, better looking results
Cons: Must keep Wii limitations in mind, requires a lot of time and a lot of skill
Importing models:
Pros: Possibly quick and easy, best looking results (for higher poly characters)
Cons: Unknown if faces and eyes will funtion, must stick to the original model and textures, things may not line up correctly with bones
Vertexing:
Pros: Known results, quaility depends on skill of maker
Cons: Very limited, using only materials given to one by Nintendo, Normal glitches
The lists are probably a lot bigger, but this is just to convey my general point. Everything has pros and cons. Of course, importing will put a lot of stage makers out of a job as well, so it's not like Vertexersare the only ones effected. The dawn of MarioKart's vertexing method nearly put solo texture hackers such as myself out of a job as well, but yet they're still here. Just keep in mind that some people will cling to the old ways, and some are ready to embrace the future.

importer doesnt do everything on its own, u must rig the imported model to an already existing boneset, but u still must rig it... unless u want a 100% T-posed character...
and if it works, it wont be like the first imports, which had DIFERENT BONESETS than the character they're over... now they will be read by the game as if they were actually that character...
but yeah, rigging the thing must be a pain in the ass...

We could also try removing the family thread for a few days to see what happens. If in those few days the Error 500s drop greatly or cease altogether, then make the Family thread an off-site IRC chatroom, like I suggested we do.
Seriously, I've noticed the Error 500's freaquency has grown with the popularity of said topic. It's causing a lot of traffic and a lot of refreshing of the pages by tons of people each second. It can't hurt to try, right?
I honestly kinda doubt it's going to have any effect. The Thread is already dying down, and I'm not sure if the number of Errors 500 is caused by the Family anyways. They just have the same cause, which is the overall increase of traffic on the boards (and BV) as a whole, so of course if one of them goes up, the other does as well.
When we hit page 10.000 with the current Family thread and have to create a new one, I guess we could wait for a week before making a new one, as an experiment, but I doubt it's going to make much difference. People will just get in other Forum Games threads. Or Off-Topic, or anywhere else, really.
And it won't reduce our huge number of Guests either. Seems as effective as a drop of water on a hot stone.
